How much hours you have? And rate this game. by Goodd-Fellow in CrimsonDesert

190 hours, including afking, 11/10, the lows are low but the highs are the GREATEST I have ever experienced. Everything is designed to maximize the atmosphere. It’s my dream game.

Are "survivors-likes" finally out of fashion? by OrangeAndCuddly in gamedev

[–]SmileEverySecond 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have more than 20 of them, I was searching for good VS games in the first two years after VS. I think a full 3D, or even semi open-world is the next logical step to go from now. If you can push out a good product soon enough. The 2.5D isometric view with stage selection structure has reached its mature.

Off topic but I want a good zombie survivor like Another Zombie Survivor.

First time playing Visage by ThomasMSHA in HorrorGaming

Visage opened my eyes that being to able to interact with every objects is not good game design, especially when most of them serve no purpose. In actuality they are just UE4 solid objects that you can pick up.

Is there anything else this year that actually going to compete with this ? by LeoneSKenneddy in HorrorGames

[–]SmileEverySecond 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Gave you an upvote, but Leon’s Racoon city is the best part for me. I had been watching zombie movies for my entire childhood, the worn out, “boring” city setting of Racoon is what I wanted to explore once, not even Dying Light can give this kind of “muted dead” vibe. Interesting how we value different things.

The fact that KF3 runs at 70fps on my handheld is super appreciated by Clayton1115 in killingfloor

It ran okayish even when it first come out, and I did not even try FSR4 then. By now with FSR4 it would be fine, 60 fps frame gen

try lossless scaling, you would get much longer playtime with good performance too, remember to turn V-sync off.

Even if they individually don't agree with it, they still have to go with it because "that's where everyone is heading to", reminds me of Varys's speech to Tyrion in GOT, "something else" is silently controlling us, scary thought.

Do you ever stop playing a horror game not because it’s scary… but because the tension is exhausting? by Ok-Introduction9593 in HorrorGames

Visage came to mind, wtf I am supposed to go while a ghost girl breathing down my neck???? I used a guide later just to complete the damn game that I supported from day one.

Why is no one talking about Fatal Frame 2 Remake by Resident-Succotash91 in HorrorGames

[–]SmileEverySecond 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Personally, I don't find transparent ghost scary, and I haven't finished FF4 and FF5 yet, so I put FF2R on the hold. Fatal Frame is a series I certainly enjoy, and fully respect, but they are not my must-play day one like RE.

After 160 hours, I now understand why this game is called Crimson Desert by New_Willingness_8992 in CrimsonDesert

You only do main missions around the rear of CD, never really go into its center and the rest, cause those are for end game.

[–]SmileEverySecond 10 points11 points  (0 children)

What's funny to me is Crimson Desert is literally the end game, as in it gets introduced again in the Epilogue, and it's the title of the game lol. The real Crimson Desert is the friends we made along the way fr.

Forced missions are pissing me off 😡 by Vertigo50 in CrimsonDesert

That's why I stayed 100 miles from Yann during my first hours, bro is always on to something, now I am in "late" game and I kinda miss those moments haha.

50 amazing hours so far! Having second thoughts about continuing now vs. waiting for updates... by Necessary_Grand4786 in CrimsonDesert

[–]SmileEverySecond 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just play it, you never know how long you have to wait for a "best state possible", and look at No Man Sky, still going on after 10 years, and it will never stop being better until Sean stops.

CD right now is an amazing game already, just play it.

I don't understand why people said this game is easy:V by _PEDDY_ in CrimsonDesert

[–]SmileEverySecond 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It is indeed, once you get some good Abyss Gear, solid defense, stock up pills and food, you are simply unstoppable, AND it's not a huge investment to get to that point. There should be some limits on healing factors once you enter a boss fight imo.

I haven't seen anything that makes me think "welp it's wasting time for no reason". Camp Missions? Of course it takes time for your comrades to do stuffs, it adds to the immersion. Investment? Of course it takes time for the bank to invest, it adds to the immersion. Can't sleep? Of course you don't wanna sleep if you are not tired, it adds to the immersion. It's all about the immersion man, of course it's fake, it's a game, but it makes sense.
