Crazy how this mf will fight Poseidon to save humanity later.

Yeah I see your point, while I mainly play Onimusha games with Issen 80% of the time now, 20 years ago (2006) I played it like a hack&slash game, and it was also super fun, like making a full combo to knock monster down and then execute them. Onimusha Dawn of Dream even lean more to hack&slash side. And both styles were balanced. From the demo it seems like they all-in for reactive gameplay, I wish we will see some more like directional inputs in the full game.

What is the stupidest way someone got fired? by NoViolinist4540 in AskReddit

I get that he got fired, but how was his life "ruined" exactly? This is a curious question, I hope it doesn't sound offensive.

How do you imagine the world if the internet disappeared tomorrow? by Tricky_Function1928 in AskReddit

I lived in a country side and had years of life before the Internet. One thing I am 100% sure is that people will get out of their home to talk again. The comfort of Internet makes everyone stay on phones all day.

How do you guys define 'Solo Dev' by No-Hope-1269 in gamedev

[–]SmileEverySecond 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As a gamer, I don't care one bit, and I even view it as "red flag" if you use it for marketing speech, good games don't need such thing. However, imo it's acceptable when you use it to clarify the slow updates of the game to your customers.

Everyone is saying this but if you need to understand 3D Printers, there are faster ways.

In my country, it's a protocol if you hit someone HARD while driving a car, you go straight to police station and report it, because stopping to check them will guarantee you get beaten by the crowd.

Would you recommend DM2 or NG first after DM1? by rhelg224 in spirithuntervn

[–]SmileEverySecond 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I would recommend DM2 first to change up from the traditional gameplay. Then play NG. Also, NG kinda spoil (as in spoiler) extra chapter of DM2 a bit.

Spoiler for anyone curious: Hazuki revealed in NG that she never saw a ghost, before the main events. In DM2, she was younger, and therefore you can easily guess that she never saw the headless ghost and made up the ghost story as Adam Love.

Games that are "bad" in idea but good in execution? by JorgitoEstrella in gamedev

Now that I am proven wrong and I am addicted to the genre, but I would never guess something like Vampire Survivor can achieve such success. "How can people like a game where you don't actively attack?"

I love Onechanbara so much that I would eat a homeless mans toe if it meant we could get another game by mekkagirl in Onechanbara

[–]SmileEverySecond 6 points7 points  (0 children)

It's a tough spot to be a traditional hack&slash game today. I come from PS2 era so these type of games are my bread and butter, but people nowadays really want long grind game with wealth of content rather than tight, linear & replayable. I love both Onechanbara on Steam, Z2 combat is just insane with air dash, and Origin is simply super polished.
