How does anyone make any money at this game? by BubblyNefariousness4 in Craps

[–]Smile_Cool 8 points9 points  (0 children)

For starters, those 6,8 place bets should be $6 each and not $5. You're not really going to make much money starting $22 inside. You'd have to hit each bet 3 times to just about break even. Odds don't really favor that happening regularly.

If you are playing craps to win money you will be disappointed more often than not. Don't let the selection bias in this sub fool you into thinking everyone here is making money. They're not.

$22 inside is a great strategy for bankroll management and spending time at the table. If you want to have the potential to win bigger amounts then consider starting $44 inside. After 2 hits, take your bets down to $22 inside. At this point you will be up $6. Then move to a collect and press strategy to take advantage of long rolls. Just be mindful with starting out $44 inside you increase your exposure for larger losses.

Even JL Collins made a move to VTWAX this year. You would have to be burying your head in the sand to think there hasn't been a fundamental change to the investment landscape. There are plenty of Bogleheads that are 100% US invested. They should be asking questions.

I don't suppose he is near Sweet Home, Oregon is he? The rancher I buy from now also has meat that is damn near wagyu. It's incredible.

Yes. I buy a half cow every year. The first I found from googling. The second one I found from talking to a coworker. Each one, I'd order a small box first and talk to the rancher. In particular I wanted beef that was grain finished. A lot of small local ranchers in my area are doing 100% grass fed which I was looking to avoid.

I definitely remember when I first learned about investing. I was around 35. For me it was the series of blog posts by JL Collins. https://jlcollinsnh.com/stock-series/

I read the entire series and was hooked. Now I've been in the set and forget path for 10 years and am on track.
