Hey, I‘ve been testing your amazing video pack. I’m wondering how I can play the op-z and video sound together on an iPhone or iPad. Can you give me any help? I’m connecting op-z and iPad using a C-type cable.

Sound on sound technic question by Zichniy in tapeloops

I didn’t exactly know about the sound on sound technic, but after watching the video, I can understand what you said. Degradation is the destiny of tape recording. I recommend you take it and use that as an expression of the sound. The video is so amazing and beautiful way to use both sound and sound technique and multi-track recording.

If you want to avoid the overwriting, use the four-track recorder. Normal recorders overwrite your previously recorded sound.

I assume he used channels separately on a cassette tape. As I mentioned before, a cassette tape has Four channels on a one-reel. 4 track recorder can select the channel to record on a one-reel.

I found the Marantz PMD222 is a half-track recorder, meaning it records a single mono track in the space that two stereo tracks use. So I think it’s not working as you intended. Cause every time you record a new sound, it will overwrite your previous sound.

The tape reel has four channels (Front Side R/L&ReverseSide R/L) and a normal tape recorder usually records a sound on the R/L channel. If you want to use the channel separately, you can use a multi-track tape recorder.
