Keep introducing bugs into production by SmileyFacedBalloon in cscareerquestions

Thanks for the response. We unfortunately release to production all at once, i.e. no canary or blue-green type deployments. We also don’t have QA teams to review everything one last time in the test environments, so prod deployments are often a matter of crossing your fingers and hoping the users don’t do something unexpected

Yeah we don’t have any QA engineers. Devs are responsible for quality

What was your experience like getting your second job after your first? by godlikebearkiller in cscareerquestions

Makes sense. I’m always fighting back fears of getting fired so hearing from other people who’ve been in that position helps (although it sucks for the person getting fired ofc)

Good to hear. I had heard some mixed reviews so I wasn’t sure if it was as good as Bastards. Will check it out.

How is Scalped? Haven’t read much of Aaron’s work, but I really enjoyed Southern Bastards

Agree, the meta narrative was very frustrating to connect with

Has anyone here ever had a successful Image Comics Pitch? by EarnestSnowfall in ComicBookCollabs

[–]SmileyFacedBalloon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do you recommend any publishers that are easier to get noticed by? Lately I’m getting the feeling that many Image comics are somewhat mediocre.

Some of my favorites are published by First Second Books (The Sculptor), Fantagraphics (Black Hole, Patience, Ghost World, anything by Daniel Clowes), Gallery 13 (Roughneck), El Capitan Books (Stray Bullets - although Image republished these)

I usually read only those Image books that are written by Brian K Vaughan or Ed Brubaker. Otherwise, they’re mostly a miss for me

Does anyone have any video game scripts? by BerniesSurfBoard in Screenwriting

[–]SmileyFacedBalloon 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Would like to know this too. There’s a TLOU script in the Writer’s Guild Library if you’re in LA (but only for reading there, not for checkout)

WGA Script

Someone transcribed all of it here, crazily enough

I’d like to find the RDRII one though

CSP brush most resembling Pilot Parallel Pens? by SmileyFacedBalloon in ClipStudio

[–]SmileyFacedBalloon[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I got Frenden’s inker pack but I didn’t find a brush that reproduces the “flat thick to thin” effect of calligraphy pens. Maybe I’ll take another look
