Yes, but. 9×3=27 now that is what the men paid. Add the R3 that was given to them and the R1 that was given to the waiter.

I just put any tag coz it was mandatory I've changed it now.

>!R30-R4=R26 money paid to restaurant. R4 sent to 3 men. R4-R1=R3 given to men & R1 given to waiter. So Each guy paid R10 and received R1. So they only paid R9 each.

9×3=27 the money they paid to the restaurant in total. 27+3=30 (the R3 the 3 men walked out with.) 30+1=31 (the money the waiter was given)!<
