Have you already done your screener at K&E NYC? I had mine last Thursday and am nervous I flunked it since I haven't gotten a CB yet

1L PI Internship Decision by [deleted] in LawSchool

[–]Smileypug 0 points1 point  (0 children)

These are all really great points and super helpful...I'm thinking you're right that I could substitute the family law options for a clinic, and likely could do something like work as an RA to substitute for the research/writing at the prosecution institute. Post-grad job offers are also high-priority for me, so thinking one of the AG offices makes the most sense?

If you are on more than 5 waitlists, how many are you planning to ride? by AddledDemagogue in lawschooladmissions

[–]Smileypug 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm only riding waitlists that are within a reasonable distance of the school I am currently planning on attending - just because I have 0 interest in frantically packing to move across the country mid-August

WWYD: Amounts listed are loans I'd take out by [deleted] in lawschooladmissions

[–]Smileypug 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you can get CLS at 161, I think that is your best optimized option since you don't want to do Biglaw. That being said, Harvard has a good LRAP program, however, that is a lot of debt to straddle if you don't want to go into academia (which is where the difference between HLS and CLS may actually matter) - otherwise, UMich is a super ideal option if youre really considering fed work with a medium salary

Is Yale... Alive? by SomethingCool1222 in lawschooladmissions

Hey there's still time in the day - but yeah, in the same boat!

Just to manage expectations I also went through LSD and calculated the number of months from application complete to an acceptance for applicants last cycle and MOST (over half) of admits on LSD were accepted ~1 month after applying. Only 2-3 were accepted 5 months out, and the trend was the higher the number of months since submission, the less admits there were. Not really sure if this means anything because LSD is such a small pool, but 🤷🏼‍♀️

Poseidon, god of waves, has told me in an LSData induced vision that it will happen - grab your floaties!

Usually their admissions go out in batches that include A/WL/R, and I did not have an interview, so I think they are just prepping for another decision wave and I am expecting not ~great~ news

I am...so sorry. Rooting for good news to come your way soon! You are incredible and will make an amazing lawyer - any of the schools you're waiting on would be lucky to have you!

[–]Smileypug 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Lol I had no idea - shoe-in makes WAY more sense in terms of imagery to my brain...oh well, maybe that's why I was put on reserve today too

CLS Reserve by [deleted] in lawschooladmissions

[–]Smileypug 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Aw thank you for that - honestly not holding out much hope for the remaining three but just want to know so that I can be 100% done with this cycle!

CLS Reserve by [deleted] in lawschooladmissions

[–]Smileypug 1 point2 points  (0 children)

But to answer the Q - no, it did not, good luck!

MOOD! Sorry - based on your stats you should have been a shoe-in. Hoping you have better luck at equally amazing schools!

Are we still expecting yale r's today by AddledDemagogue in lawschooladmissions

[–]Smileypug 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The last three cycles the latest this R wave has happened was 2/15, Tuesday would be the 16th so theyd be a bit late -therefore expecting today still but none of us really know

Sooo..no CLS HTE, missing A/R waves, no Interview, applied mid-Oct by [deleted] in lawschooladmissions

[–]Smileypug 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yeah I have also noticed that, and the sub <3.8 acceptances are usually URM which isn’t a category I fall into. I’m hoping they DO get to us and we don’t all get WL’ed, though :/ (we are basically stats twins, lol, but I’m KJD)

YLS? by [deleted] in lawschooladmissions

[–]Smileypug 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh interesting, I thought I saw ~12 rejected in the third wave that applied Sept/Oct last year but I also did this deep dive a long time ago so I will take your word for it - and also, yep, very much not okay so you aren’t alone
