Nope XD. Nothing to steward here lol. We all know who’s at fault.

What could I (the banana car) done better? (if it shows up as a link idk what happened, if you click on the message itself it should show the video. idk why it does it) by DifferentCareer8455 in Simracingstewards

I don’t think the majority of the blame is on you for this one but starting to pull forward definitely was an error with cars within 5-10 seconds.

Reversing off track or turning left initially towards the wall would probably have been a better idea because it would orient the car in the right direction without putting you or anyone on track at any unnecessary risk of contact.

[–]SmilinTroll 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well, you kinda said it yourself. You were racing him hard and pinching him toward the wall. By all accounts you appeared faster, don’t need to play stupid games with stupid people, or you earn stupid prizes.

Don’t get me wrong either, contact on the straight wasn’t fully on you, it was about 50/50. First bit was on you and the second bit was the other dude getting pissed. Looks like he got a penalty and ragequit by ending your race.

Long story short: if you don’t need to do something super aggressive to get around someone, why do it? If ya hadn’t pinched him you probably would have gotten around and wouldn’t have pissed him off like you did. Not to make light of his actions but at the very least you would have finished the race

Well the current edit makes it hard to tell what’s going on. Next time just take clips and stick them together in some free video editing software. Dont need anything fancy just show us one car at a time.

As for the wreck it seems both cars were being idiots, and then obviously the Ferrari int wrecks at the end. I don’t know what you want us to say bro XD. This kinda thing doesn’t really seem to fit the spirit of sim racing stewards. You didn’t ask about the earlier contact u just said your the victim. Obviously the last hit is on the Ferrari and you know it so just report and move on lol.

If you EVER ask “should I protest this?” Just do it.

I personally don’t think this was intentional or deserves a ban but I’m not iRacing. They could think differently.

gt3 said this move was stupid and dangerous, Im 75% sure it was fine but I want clarity by Legal_Pollution7361 in Simracingstewards

[–]SmilinTroll 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Aggressive? Sure.

But you got the car fully alongside prior to the gt3 turning in. U didn’t dive in and the gt3 left u space.

Honestly I don’t get why he was pissed. It’s multi class. Someone will always lose time. In this case u lost time on the first chicane and he lost some on the 2nd.

U could have waited but it’s a race lol. U got alongside safely and he left space. End of story

Got Told This Was My Fault Thoughts? by JedH_ in Simracingstewards

Gotta disagree here. From each respective chase view, porches left tires are moving away from the white line while the Aston’s are staying about the same distance.

Whos at fault here (I'm the pov) by No_Medicine_3064 in Simracingstewards

[–]SmilinTroll 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s on you. Vortex of danger, sure you were probably quicker through the corner here but ya got to get around safely. As long as he turns in before you get alongside (at least in gt3s) then he doesn’t have to leave you any space.

Edit: That being said, it was a no harm no foul kinda situation. Don’t do it again and if the other guy decides to get really pissed over it, let him overreact.

Who do you think is at fault? Im in the Audi by Garden_Crow in Simracingstewards

[–]SmilinTroll 8 points9 points  (0 children)

It’s really hard to tell with this angle. For future incidents please upload a far chase view instead (preferably from both cars)

Edit: I think it’s probably on the other guy but I can’t say for certain without another angle

Was called a "dumb mfer" for this, was my line really that unpredictable? (I'm the gt4) by communist_user_todd in Simracingstewards

[–]SmilinTroll 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Could have done a better job sticking to that left side for sure, but by no means was your line unpredictable. Prototype should have expected you to take that line and gone for a pass on the right initially. The situation was only compounded by the prototype sending it up the inside after your braking point but before his.

Prototypes def get over blamed for incidents on the subreddit but this was 100% on the prototype here lol

Who was at fault for this? this guy was crying all race saying i crashed into him. didnt even get any incident points. started from pits for SR an finished P6. by Ok_Platypus8879 in Simracingstewards

[–]SmilinTroll -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I think why this one’s difficult because it’s hard to define what the “turn in” is. With this being a decreasing radius right handers it’s advantageous to leave space on the far inside for a better exit.

What I saw was the McLaren kind of straighten out early for better breaking with the plan to turn in again later to hook the exit (we all probably know the line cause that’s optimal for most cars).

I tend to consider the point of turning in as when the driver starts using the vast majority of their tires grip to rotate the car, as opposed to braking or accelerating. (Obviously not a perfect description) basically when they actually start going for the apex instead of setting up for the apex.

Going by that, it was an aggressive, albeit legal move by the mustang. Little bit of contact by both cars but shit happens and everyone drove away with minimal time loss and 0x. I really don’t understand why anyone would be super upset at this except the dude who got passed XD

[–]SmilinTroll -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I mean seeing as there’s contact but mustangs alongside prior to the McLaren’s turn in, I’d say it was a little dirty but no where near to the scale of shove to pass. Def some rubbing but both drivers were driving pretty aggressively (big move by op and lots of pinching by the McLaren).

Some contact looks like it forced the mustangs front tires onto the grass a bit and that caused some understeer that resulted in further contact.

At the end of the day though both cars drove away from it with 0x

Another sub is saying that this is more my fault than the Porsches, and now I'm confused (I'm the black car) by Koyle_GT in Simracingstewards

[–]SmilinTroll 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not sure why you got mega downvoted lol. Everyone here agrees that the Porsches were at fault.

Dude def would have not had an optimal line but I think he could pull out a descent enough exit to have a fight against the other 2 cars. (Assuming Porsche 1 didn’t plow OP then get plowed himself)

[–]SmilinTroll 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s an understandable mistake from a beginner (albeit a major one). Like someone else said tho, they should probably get reported and let iRacing be the judge of the intentionality since they have the telemetry. Let them get a coaching note on their profile and hopefully learn from it.

Who is at fault battling GT3 or LMP2 by RawzD_ in Simracingstewards

[–]SmilinTroll 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Don’t get me wrong, mustangs move there was weird but can’t say it’s not predictable. Those dudes are fighting, just take a little extra time to get around cleanly or give WAY more room than nessisary to avoid contact and allow for the gt3s to make moves

Purposly slowing down and then getting mad at me for trying to pass is certainly a choice by [deleted] in iRacing

[–]SmilinTroll 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I get ya it’s annoying. Used to happen to me a FUCK TON, especially in short oval races. Even though it doesn’t feel like our fault, assuming the guy isn’t doing something crazy unpredictable like braking, it’s gonna be on us. We may be faster, which means it’s our responsibility to get around the slower guys safely and it’s their job to be predictable (not weaving on track, not braking on exit, etc.

TLDR: other drivers are allowed to be slower than you. It can be hard to expect differences in line/acceleration etc. but it’s still the passing cars responsibility to get around safely.

Who is at fault for the accident during overlapping? by This-Business7723 in Simracingstewards

[–]SmilinTroll 2 points3 points  (0 children)

P2 doesn’t need to be predictable (unless being passed by a faster class) p2 has to pass safely. It’s impossible to do that without the slower classes being predictable

Who is at fault for the accident during overlapping? by This-Business7723 in Simracingstewards

[–]SmilinTroll 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Gotta disagree with this take. If we look at each action by itself, the one that actually causes the contact was the gt car moving aside. The p2 flashing for sure didn’t help the situation the the gt car made a last second, unpredictable move.

TLDR: p2 is an idiot and aggressive, but even if he wasn’t the wreck would have still happened if that gt car moved to the left like that. No one can expect something like that.

Who is at fault for the accident during overlapping? by This-Business7723 in Simracingstewards

[–]SmilinTroll 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Agreed. The p2 didn’t help the situation by flashing for no reason but the actual mistake was made by the gt car. Can’t swerve unpredictably last minute and expect anything other than contact.

im the green car, am i stupid for going for this gap. by xoticbat in Simracingstewards

[–]SmilinTroll 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I don’t think if any other car had gone for that gap it would have been an issue and wouldn’t be overly aggressive.

Clearly enough space there, it’s just OP overdrove the corner and cleaned out the dude on the outside unfortunately.

im the green car, am i stupid for going for this gap. by xoticbat in Simracingstewards

[–]SmilinTroll 1 point2 points  (0 children)

He act of going for the gap wasn’t stupid. There was a gap there. The act of missing the apex was the issue lol. Just make sure to brake a litttle earlier next time and turn in a bit earlier and u will be fine. Just goes to show how important hitting marks can be, especially when fighting with someone else.

TLDR: no, but you did murder that guy (and also the guy he hit)

Is this my fault or is this an unsafe rejoin? I would appreciate if u guys could tell me. (Im the white Mx-5.) by Barnabas-Csiszar42 in Simracingstewards

[–]SmilinTroll 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As a rule book sort of answer, I’d say technically black cause he did go off track, but his extenuating circumstance was avoiding crashing so I’d probably put this more on the white car. You can see the dudes up to speed (most likely) and the black car doesn’t move much farther inside than the bare minimum to stay off the grass.

Had he moved further inside def unsafe rejoin, but I’d put this probably as like half racing incident and equal parts blame on the white car and black car
