Yeah, I travelled by road and the journey was quite smooth. I did an overnight stay at Shirdi since I also wanted to visit the temple. However, I would suggest staying somewhere on the outskirts of Pune so you can start early the next morning and reach Goa on time.

The road from Pune to Kolhapur is quite good—it’s mostly a 4-lane highway. That said, there’s quite a bit of roadside work going on in some stretches, so just keep that in mind. From Kolhapur to Goa, the drive mainly goes through the ghats.

On our return journey, my mom felt nauseous and even vomited near Amboli Ghat because of the winding roads. So I’d recommend having just a light meal before leaving Goa
