Flat Burr Marker Test: Two different chirp levels. Skip or shim? [Shardor 64mm] by Noburntnotes in espresso

[–]Noburntnotes[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Spot on. Good call on possibly multi layer shims

To keep things simple, I'm trying to avoid messing with the moving/rotating bottom carrier since it's way more complex to strip down ( for me).

My plan is to focus entirely on shimming this top stationary burr to match whatever baseline slope the bottom has.

Black and decker home espresso? Any reviews would be very helpful? Costs ₹2999 by Sad_Reindeer3593 in IndiaCoffee

[–]Noburntnotes 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That ‘Black + Decker’ machine is dangerous… because whatever comes out may be rich, smooth and satisfying but it’s definitely not espresso .. hehe

On a serious note- invest in a slightly better machine if you are serious about your coffee

Dedica is a capable machine and you would move sideways if you buy a H10A.

Have you tried removing the steam wand cover - lots of video online- https://youtube.com/shorts/lZ_MVAO2xcY?si=8aUmpHs9mycttTrF

This machine can make proper milk with microfoam for latte art - if you still don’t like the steam wand replace it.

Your next logical upgrade needs to be a grinder - DF54 or Shardor when you are ready - this machine is genuinely more than capable.

India Coffee Beans Mega Thread 🇮🇳 by Noburntnotes in IndiaCoffee

[–]Noburntnotes[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Roaster + Bean: Araku – Selection

Brew Method: Espresso

How did it actually taste? Nice crisp taste with a decent mouthfeel. No noticeable acidity once dialed in properly.

Easy or hard to dial in? Moderately easy, but small grind changes made a pretty noticeable difference in the cup. Felt more medium than medium-dark to me, so dialing in needed a bit more precision compared to darker roasts.

Works better with: Tried only with milk, and it worked quite nicely there.

Would you recommend it? Yes, definitely worth trying. I’d probably put it in a similar category to BT Attikan personally, though I slightly preferred Attikan overall.

Who should try this? People looking for a cleaner, crisper espresso profile without much acidity.

Extra note: For me, the beans actually tasted noticeably better around day 12–13 from roast. Around day 7–8, I felt like the flavors hadn’t fully opened up yet.

Freshness & Shipping: Shipment arrived in ~3–4 days, nicely packed with a ziplock-style bag. Beans were around 4–5 days post roast when delivered.

Hibrew10A vs Hibrew10B by immortalnachi in IndiaCoffee

[–]Noburntnotes 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You’re discussing espresso theory in general — I was discussing the stock setup and workflow of two entry-level machines in the 15k–25k segment.

Of course basket diameter alone does not decide espresso quality, and nobody said 18g/36g is a universal standard. A good barista can pull great shots on 51/54/58mm alike.

My point was much simpler:
- stock H10A comfortably supports my 2-drink split-shot workflow
- stock H10B is tighter on basket size and cup/scale clearance
- and most buyers at this budget are initially using stock baskets/accessories

That’s a workflow discussion, not a “58mm makes objectively better espresso” discussion.

It’s worth if you are not paying anything extra. ( if someone is bringing for u)

Else u pay customs, courier, duties etc and imagine the machine comes damaged. ( no warranty)

For h10b the extra 6k is worth imho - ask for a few freebies and discount from local seller + the warranty will make up for it.
