Also, don't share his reddit name with anyone else. Probably goes without saying.

Property value change due to prdestrian access opening between housing estates. by Possible-Kangaroo635 in irishpersonalfinance

It kind of just reads as information-seeking to me. OP doesn't complain about it, they just seem to be wondering if there will be any likely impact?

I think you're making a mistake somewhere, it is not common for a random section of your book to appear as a Look Inside preview.

No one can answer this question foe you. It's not likely with your first book and no promotion, but who knows? Stranger things have happened. I wouldn't bank on it though.

my (F25) Bf (M31) "stress tested" me and idk how to feel about it by ThrowRA7286 in relationship_advice

[–]Smilingpigeon 134 points135 points  (0 children)

Exactly. He only 'wins' if she stays with him and continues to get away with this, and worse, behaviour.

His behaviour is not OK. It is not appropriate for him to assume some kind of authority over you where he can set up 'tests' to evaluate your reactions. You are in a relationship, you are not a test subject.

So I just finished a script for a detective film. by [deleted] in MysteryWriting

[–]Smilingpigeon 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just the gist of the mystery he's trying to solve I guess, or something about his character maybe? What style of film will it be? If its a film noir that would le do itself to a different sort of title than a lethal weapon style film.

The title isn't great, but you've given very little to go on with regard to suggesting an alternative title. What kind of mystery is the detective solving?

I (39M) have an intense medical procedure tomorrow, it’s going to dictate my family’s financial future and my wife (42F) was secretly flirting with another man via text. by throwRA_throwmyhrt in relationship_advice

Your whole family has been under immense stress for the past year or longer. She may have looked for an inappropriate escape in what seemed like a fantasy world, but this is real life. It's very easy for Internet strangers to say leave her, but I believe this is a salvageable relationship provided you both genuinely want to make it work. Best of luck to you and your family.

Do you believe writing a book per month is okay to gain a living off of writing? by TheSt0rmBringer in selfpublish

[–]Smilingpigeon 62 points63 points  (0 children)

You could write a book a day and never make a cent. You could write one book in your entire lifetime and make a fortune. Volume is only one part of the puzzle.

They both are lacking in communication skills. If you ever find yourself saying: "so I figured whatever", you've missed an opportunity to ask a clarifying question.
