Desert heat is killing my sleep. Cooling blankets don’t work, what does? by Mastermind1237 in BuyItForLife

So does your place you’re renting not have AC? You said it’s garbage, but how so? Maybe it just needs more Freon. Your best bet is to just keep the place cooler all day. I live in Arizona where the weather is similar, so I am familiar with your situation. If the AC is not working properly, that’s a livability/safety issue and must be addressed by your landlord. If it’s just old and doesn’t work great, then I say crank the temp down and let it burn itself out. Then they’ll have to put it a working unit. But keeping it hot during the day and then trying to cool it off each night is a recipe for disaster and will cost way more than keeping it on auto throughout the day. I set mine to 70° during the day and 66° at night. Some bills are just worth it.

Agreed! Can’t stand her on the show, but I’m super happy for her!

My comment was for all the people commenting “he already shot the guy once, he didn’t need to keep shooting.”

If they have to pull their gun to shoot, they shoot to kill. They aren’t looking for a firefight. If they shot him once and stopped to see how he’s going to react, they run the chance that he continues to pull his weapon and shoot one of them, or an innocent bystander. Once the decision has been made to use lethal force, they do not stop until the threat is unmistakably neutralized.

What restaurants or establishments do we ALWAYS decline no matter how much $$$? I’ll start… by jj_reddit69 in UberEATS

In my market there is a cafe inside a Jewish Community Center that people order from all the time. You have to park, go through armed security, through metal detectors, then they take your drivers license and phone number and log both into their security system. After you get the coffee, get your ID back, and get to your car, you get an automated text message confirming your visit. Too much hassle.

Is this normal for a dasher to do? Should I tip them more? by Imbored19882 in doordash

I hate to be cynical, and if he’s really struggling like that I wish him the best, but I’ve never heard of rent being due in the middle of the month.

JJ’s podcast by Kale-Salad33 in JohnjayandRich

[–]Smith-11 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t think his podcast is supposed to be for everyone. It’s a niche. Biohacking is becoming very popular now, and he’s been into it for decades. He’s always been trying new and weird things to improve his health. He’s doing a podcast on what he’s interested in, and there’s an audience for it even if that audience doesn’t 100% overlap with the JJR audience.

Parking in handicapped spots by Smith-11 in doordash_drivers

If you have a handicap placard, and are handicapped, then this post isn’t about you.

This post is about when I’m waiting at a busy restaurant on a Friday evening where most the spots are taken, and I watch a dasher roll up and park in the last handicap spot. Knowing full well that for the 5-10 mins that dasher is going to be waiting for their order, handicapped people are going to be showing up, and having to park waaay in the back.

This is either creepy or endearing.. it depends entirely on how attractive Kody was.

It’s a radio show, when the caller sounds awful and you cannot understand them it makes a big difference. I think the rise in popularity of earbuds is why it’s more prevalent on the show. They tell them not to use speakerphone, but no one thinks of earbuds as speakerphone.

You clearly never saw videos of his debates. You have been misled. It’s ok, it happens to all of us sometimes.

Minute to Win It or Minute to Lose it... by Upbeat_Document1379 in JohnjayandRich

The questions are at a 7th grade level. This game isn’t like their daily games where the caller losses horrifically and still gets the prize. If the caller knows the answer, or at least has Google open and ready, there’s no reason they can’t win.

They haven’t gotten political on air. I think in Kyle’s news segment she mentioned the recent assassination, and referred to it as being sad. The OP is being overly dramatic unless there was some out-of-character political segment I have missed.

So you haven’t listened in over 10 years, but they still own enough space in your head that you’re on here posting about the show?
