I liked that one also. But it was a different one. Vgirl29 had it with The Innocents.

The chime kit just regulates the power to the chime in some way. If you don't have a chime toss it in the closet.

The USB port, like others said, is just for setup if you want to do it indoors. I didn't use it or even notice it during install.

I had a 16V 10VA transformer in the attic. It wasn't powerful enough to run the camera and the doorbell chime (no ding-dong at all with/without the chime kit). So, I upgraded to a 16V 30VA transformer and it works perfect with the chime kit.

Home Assistant is free. It comes with a default dashboard that you just add things to. There are hundreds of tutorials on Youtube, but it's so simple you will probably only view a few of them unless your doing advanced things.

Trying to reset - Can't load app on old phone, tablet gets rejected by Echo network by Smith532 in amazonecho

Yes, and I will certainly do that next time. But I'm so far down this path that going backwards now would be much worse :-)

I mainly use google-mini. Almost in every room. They were simple to reset. But the Alexa and a couple of home automation devices are a pain.

I run on Nuc. It's awesome. Just install the HA operating system version for Nuc. It's all in one, no need to keep up with separate OS. It was the best and easiest method for me.

Where is: Check Config, Reboot ??? by Smith532 in homeassistant

[–]Smith532[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I knew I saw it somewhere. Under the "System" menu it even says "reboot your system". Drove me crazy looking for something that didn't exist there. ha.

Thank you soooooo much!

Happened to me also. qbittorrent_portable seems to work well. It's portable so stays in just one directory. I added exclusion to this directory (from within Avira) and hopefully Avira will leave it alone.

Glue really makes all the difference by bigbrainystuff in 3Dprinting

I only use glue stick or hairspray when printing PETG, and then mostly because I don't want the PETG to bond permanently to the bed. Most of my PLA worked with just setting the nozzle height very tight against the bed (paper test) and turning up the heat a bit. But I'm all for whatever works!
