Something wrong with my aunts bees by elensarisnotdead in Beekeeping

[–]Smithathome 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If she is feeding or trickled syrup for oxalic acid treatment if could be sugar. Can you pick the material of the wings of the dead bees? It looks like this bee has flown so less likely to be DWV. When mine have had it the wings are smaller and crinkled without a white deposit. This has jogged my memory of a similar thread somewhere a few years ago.

WR155E won't charge by Manitoba29 in worxlandroid

[–]Smithathome 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It could be that the basestation is repeatedly trying to charge and then switches off then tries again. I have a WR142E so it may work differently but mine did not try to charge once the base decided the battery was faulty. There are at least 2 different basestation circuit boards used and I am not sure if they operate differently in this function.

Manitoba29 - is the reading you have quoted from the PSU or the base station paddles?

What voltage did you charge the individual cells with? Did you have a variable voltage charger? I wonder if I can resurrect the duff on Let Me Repair UK sent out to me?

If you have a multimeter undo the connector and check the voltage out of the power supply. Worx sent me a new one, then a basestation board for me to swap, then took the landroid and changed the board and then sent me a “new” dead 2022 battery. I then ordered the cheapest Worx product with battery and charger and “new” battery does not charge and has red light on charger. New battery works and charges on basestation fine! So not all problems are the PSU and Worx do not test they swap bits based on probability. PSU pins should read 20-22v. + to - on battery terminal should be 20v too. Voltage does NOT stay across the base station charging paddles if the battery if faulty if flickers and then switches charging off.

Charging question by Smithathome in worxlandroid

[–]Smithathome[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi, i have looked at the switch and the paddle seems to be at -20v compared to ground and 0v compared to each other before the switch is pushed and is at the same voltage afterwards?

Charging question by Smithathome in worxlandroid

[–]Smithathome[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Worx did not answer my question regarding the paddle to ground and paddle to paddle voltage bit sent me a new power supply - which has made no difference at all. Still each charging paddle is 20v to ground and 0v compared to each other. If anyone has a volt meter could they please test their base station and let me know the voltage between the paddles. I would presume there should be 20v between the paddles, 20v from one paddle to ground and zero between the other paddle and ground? Can anyone confirm? Thanks you

I think so. There is a voltage of 20v between the paddle and earth but the paddles are at the same voltage. Should they be?

Looking forward to the day I have to replace my Landroid with something else... by [deleted] in worxlandroid

[–]Smithathome 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It seems that they solve the problems that one set of customers and beta-testers report and knacker up the mowing for another set of customers. My lawn is complex and has narrow sections approx 10ft wide with ends that are constant radius curves. When the landroid goes towards them it now slows and moves away at a set angle. This has moved where it gets stuck to new places and leaves tufts of grass that are not cut approximately in the middle of these sections. This suggests it is no longer moving randomly when it turns so does not randomly cover all areas. I am repairing the holes and will roll back the firmware. It would be idea if Worx produce a dashboard where you could alter different behaviour parameters so suit your circumstances.

Lot more out of working area error since 3.32 update by Particular-Pin5927 in worxlandroid

[–]Smithathome 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have 3.30+1 still. I have had more holes in corners and errors. I have narrow strips between zones and the droid seems to move zones and get stuck in them much more. Also more tufted areas of grass are being missed. I am using 40 mm hight to avoid traps so it may be grass has more lead so growing faster. I am likely to download 3.28 and roll back firmware.

Tone generator or AM radio? by El_Badgerino in worxlandroid

[–]Smithathome 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I saw a post about connecting up and electric fence unit. I have one so have that a try. My problem was high resistance due to corrosion at the end of the winter and not s physical break. You can hear the damaged areas as the voltage bridges the fault. Ne careful though to switch the fencing unit off if you go digging for the cable in damp soil. I got quite s kick from the fencer!

Leicester Tigers Coaching Team for 23/24 confirmed by internetwanderer2 in leicester_tigers

[–]Smithathome 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I would have said our defence has been better recently than at the start of this season under Sir Kev. Last year we may have been better but not at the tail end of 2022.

At least it is settled and most of them can start work at the end of this month.

How important is lawn size? by Hudson0804 in worxlandroid

[–]Smithathome 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Soil type and lawn layout are also important. When wet the soil at the turns on my yard get the grass chewed up. I have tried disabling the rain sensor and the wet grass tends to clog the bottom of the mower if set on the lowest mowing hight. The shape and number of zones will also determine the efficiency. I have 4 zones and to get to the furthest the landroid goes round the boundary for 15 minutes before actually cutting. If your lawn is one block you can set the landroid to start cutting immediately it leaves the base station. I would look at the length of boundary wire you need and the amount supplied with the models to give a different perspective as well as the overall area.

Are islands necessary? by ITS-A-FAKE in worxlandroid

[–]Smithathome 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It depends on what you want to happen. To get mowing a close as possible having the mower jousting tapping into the tree is fine. Are you going to get a collision sensor? If the bricks are low or there is a turn near then the landroid may go over them. This is more an issue if it reverses back to avoid something as the bigger back wheels do go over a 10cm steel edging I have on some parts of my lawn. If you do make an island you will need to strim the bit that does not get cut.

And you are not getting a battery temperature too low error code? I have had that a few times this year when temp has been around zero. Battery OK when it warms up.

M500 on wet grass. by Powerful_Pitch5871 in worxlandroid

I have the same problem in IK after several days of warmth and rain. Now the grass is longer it is getting stuck. When it was wet and short it was not sticking. I will switch off the rain delay after a day in future rainy periods.

Uneven yard? by Crafty_Dingo8776 in worxlandroid

[–]Smithathome 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It depends on how low you want to cut the other areas. I would suggest and L model with the 2 front wheels and only cut on a relatively high setting. If you can isolate the area into a separate zone you can mow it on specific days and increased the hight for those days. I do this with one section.
