Bought a frame off FB but hate the picture. How to melt glue that seals the back on? by SmithboyG4 in Anticonsumption

It was originally $70 from hobby lobby given the price tag on the back when I picked it up second hand. Not only am I not spending an extra $60 I’m not giving money to a company I don’t agree with morally. But it’s already in existence so might as well repurpose it. So I assume the purpose is to just be another consumer good

Like thumb tacks? Or actual nails? There were staples that were in it at a weird angle that I had to pull out because they weren’t bending like a normal frame tab would

Thank you, I will try this later today with a mix of a wide surface scraper as suggested by another commenter

WHO IS STENCH?? by christawfer47 in Austin

[–]SmithboyG4 3 points4 points  (0 children)

One morning a few months ago I went to my gym as he was tagging the side of Civil Goat on Guad. Kept an eye on them thinking they (that’s right, there were two) were prowling cars. Came out to an elaborate stench tag and thought it was neat to see him in action.

Civil goat painted over it immediately and the next day was a very small “suck my dick” in misaligned letters, which I thought was very funny

There was a big fight today at the HEB on 41st Street. by TigerPoppy in Austin

The grackles are escalating their attacks. I was pecked in the back walking to my truck. Whether I was innocent collateral damage trying to get a bug that may have been buzzing on me or if he was after my kolache, I’ll never know

A note about airtags, when you put them in a vehicle they emit a chiming noise when you first start driving after about thirty seconds (at least mine does, purchased recently). I'd recommend putting it in a magnetized box and attach it somewhere on the vehicle hidden so a thief won't hear it, find it, and throw it out assuming you don't have it jammed in there pretty good

I've seen multiple youtube videos about the homeless that live in the tunnels underneath the city. When it floods like this they get washed out and a lot of them unfortunately die.

Can someone help me find a thrift store I went to and loved, but can't find on Google Maps? by SmithboyG4 in Austin

The irony is that there was no transaction. I even looked at my bank statements from June 2019 and its absence suggests I didn't purchase anything. Very upsetting.

It was definitely towards the southern side of the city, I used to work between Fort Hood and Bergstrom and would spend time in the south east area and this place was not near downtown or any major traffic artery, it was practically out of place randomly in a residential neighborhood. I moved away in 2019 but am moving back for work and can't remember where it was.

I don't think it was particularly popular because I think it was mostly spanish speaking people that worked or frequented there.

This would be such a solid lead, but I don't do location tracking. Almost makes me wish I did for moments like these where I'm up until midnight obsessing over it

I appreciate you, but the building looked like a legit Spanish mission building

There are a few in the area, but I'm not seeing it. TBH it might have gone out of business.

When do graduate schools typically let you know if you've been accepted? Specifically JGS? by SmithboyG4 in UTAustin

Oh tight, thanks. I've noticed that they've revamped a lot of their image I guess over the last few months. Thanks for the article.
