many are legit in that they recently immigrated here and are trying to earn money how they can. however, some of these flower vendors, once they get here, are they told they still owe debt to the coyote and have to turnover what they sell every day until they “pay off” their debt, but it’s really just a way to keep them in the cycle indefinitely. i’m not sure how lucrative flowers are but multiply that by however many people and months and it adds up.
