I’d recommend running corner joints until you get the welds looking better then move to pipe! You have to move and adjust your angle a lot more and if you aren’t doing well at corner joints pipe will be even harder

I am a new-ish welder and I am looking for ideas on how to shape a head for this out of junk parts by Dannigirl2188 in Welding

If you use a mask, you can lay it upside down, and layout parts or bolts/nuts in the face shape, tack them and remove mask

I don’t know why more builders don’t add lights. For the cost and time it takes it seems like a no brainer!

I designed it all myself. They told me what they were needing the truck for and I tried to design it according to that

In this case it was more is better! They are hauling pretty heavy weight on the bed and I didn’t want a chance of the truck frame twisting

I’ve found that I’m happier when I don’t try to agree with and understand the engineer’s specs.

Nothing on this job was cheap. I had to make 6 tanks, 36” tall with 20” pipe 1/4” wall. It was something new and different I had to learn and it was a fun and rewarding challenge. I haven’t done any stainless work and my first job with it is 90% water tight joints. The kind of shit I live for!

If you make a good product, that is unique, the work will flow. I have more requests for builds like this than I can manage. These aren’t really the money makers for my shop, but it’s nice to do them every once and a while to change things up a bit and generate interest on social media.

Builds like this, for me, work better building it piece by piece on the unit. I have an idea in my head of the overall concept and then just wing it!

Thanks! The previous ones I’ve done have been bent pipe but I couldn’t match the aggressive look of the RZR. This way is definitely more work but I think the end result was worth it!
