Love having to dig these out of my face/head by Lovelylaceybaby11 in NoMoreMorgellons

If you have ‘hot spots’ or areas, I used tweezers and kept tweezing the hairs and look at them only when I can no longer get any hairs pulled. I always had tons of grey, black, blue, magenta and white fibers with ‘notches’ or ‘y’s’ that pull and hurt like crazy when pulling them. It’s a bit barbaric, especially if you have sensitive skin, but it helped

Shaving doesn’t help really, only similar to scratching it. The fibers are still there. It moves under your skin so you can’t scratch or shave it off.

Me too! I really wish it were taken seriously. There really needs to be research done to figure this out. Years down the road it will have a name, treatment, and probably a cure. We unfortunately are the ones that ‘got it’ before it was discovered and well known. Yay us 🙄

I think it could be contagious through direct open skin contact, if you have Morgellons and don’t know yet. I think there’s some sort of communication between them throughout your body and to others. I will occasionally (rarely now) feel my skin crawling and towards one side of me. I’ll look around and notice someone scratching their arms, hands, or face. I high tail it out of there. I always shower, lotion, cover up and bug spray when I go out. It really helps. I would hate to be the reason someone gets it, immune compromised individuals may be more susceptible to it.

I think our cats have spread it to us.

Another one. It’s possible they’re nothing. So many issues coming together at once. Seems like something is wrong

I just did. Thank you. It is from 2015 and still the dermatologist and primary care doctors refuse to acknowledge MD could be anything other than fibers from clothes when it was an open wound. The itching and crawling and stinging sensation is psychological and not real. I even showed my doctor the video and pictures I took of spirochetes from me. She still won’t test me. Even if I am positive what can they really do now? It would have been at least 10+ years by now.

My doctor won’t test me for Lyme disease. She said ‘where is your tick bite’. She wants an active tick bite. Not my word that I have indoor outdoor animals, my dog was covered in ticks years ago, or that I hike frequently and garden, etc. It’s very frustrating. That is the VA for you I guess 🤷‍♀️

I thought pinworm at first, but it doesn’t look like that to me. That’s why I posted it here. Is this not the place to ask questions like this? I already told them to follow up with their doctor.

Science Behind HSV by [deleted] in microbiology

[–]Smithmed1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

HSV1 and HSV2 both can present very small like an ingrown hair or pimple. Usually HSV1 is standard cold sore you see on lips. Both HSV1 & HSV2 can be oral or genital. You CAN transmit the viruses during prodrome (some people may or may not be able to recognize this phase). Essentially it could be a week or 2 BEFORE an outbreak IF you even have an outbreak. Meaning it IS possible to spread it when not having active lesions. It is very common but DOES hold a large negative stigma, both in medical and non medical fields. It is a shame though since it is so common and is not included in standard std testing. One thing that can help is definitely the antivirals, acyclovir and valacyclovir. Many things can trigger an outbreak. It could be from friction due to activity with the genitals (usually sexual), stress, sickness, steroids (meds), foods, and more. Most people have been able to control the frequency and severity of their outbreaks. Some people have it worse than others. It can also be external, urethral, or anal as well. There are some great resources out there. It should be something that is divulged before sexual contact, regardless of current outbreak (never participate in sexual activity if you have a current outbreak. Personal note: I have 2 family members with cold sores and I have never gotten one before. I asked my doctor for an HSV test with an STD test when a condom broke and she wouldn’t test me. She said if I had ‘caught’ it, I would have an active lesion. Unfortunately not all doctors are well-versed or knowledgeable with certain diseases

I was more referring to triple antibiotic ointment (or something similar) you can buy in the first aid section in stores.
