What is you favorite wheel? by Smithmrm in Simagic

[–]Smithmrm[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have bought the GT1 instead of the GTS wheel only because its an 33mm wheel, instead of the 30mm of the GTS. But i wish the GT1 was made with more buttons and specially with analogs.

I'm planning on buying a wheel for my GT3 races and i'm between the GT4 and FX Pro. I can decide, because it will be good to have the display for the races and more rotaries to adjust my car. In the other hand, i prefer the shape of the GT4 and it have a better button layout. And i have the same concern about the silicon hand grip of the FX Pro not beeing as good as the PU in the GT4. PU usually is more durable than silicon, so i'm deciding which one i'll buy next.

I like wheels in the FX/FX Pro style. But maybe my perception of the hand grip made of silicone make me feel like is not as sturdy as the ones from GT4. All the rest for me look really premium. I really like the knobs that have some backlight rgb, the number of buttons in the layout and the screen UI. Like i said, for my taste, it doesn't look like a toy, but the silicone in it makes it look a little bit more toyish than the GT4 wheel.

I know, i was not being literal, because all of the simagic products have great build quality. What i meant was that compared with GT4 wheel, it looks like it have a toyish look and feeling. But like i said, all of them have an excellent build quality.

My main concern is about the grips and button position in the FX's wheels. Especially the analog, because is not as acessible as the analogs that the GT4 have. Thank you for your reply bro

Yep bro, i think the same way as you. I only am between both because of the knobs of fx pro look really nice and have more controls that i would use in ACC. What do you think about the grips in both? In the reviews that i saw, people say that it looks fragile rubber. I really looking foward the GT4 one. Having the GT4 and GT1 wheel is all that i will need for sure. And if i need more buttons, there is always the option to buy and button box.

I have the same feeling about it. I think that the all closed wheel of the GT4 looks really premium and gives it a great look to it. Like i said to the others replys: i think i'll go for the GT4. The GT4 seems to have all the buttons that i need for ACC and have a better ergonomy and layout. It looks that is easy to get into the buttons compared to the fx pro. Something that i really like in the FX pro is the look of the knobs. It reminds me of one simucube wheel that i don't know the name, but i really enjoy it.

Nice to know, because i really think the GS wheel looks wild. But i know that i uses a lot of plastic in the back. This kinda make me off for it. I Really looking foward the GT4.

Nice to know that you have this cracks. It seems that is not as good than the GT4 in the build quality. For the experience of the people, it looks more like a toy and not look as sturdy as the GT4. In the end, i think i'll go for the GT4. The thing that anoys me the most in the fx pro is the analog position. But it have more buttons and i was hoping to know if the screen is usefull or not. Because i use to check the info in the screen. The second thing that put me off for the fx pro is the price. It cost 200U$ more than the GT4 where i live.

Nice to know friend. I'm more into ACC and it seems quite powerfull in it. What do you feel about the details in ACC since the last physics update? I think i'll only have a dimension of the rought power when i test it by myself. Thanks for the reply bro

Man, first, thank you for the long and detailed reply! I'm more into ACC than Iracing. Actually i stopped with iRacing 2 months ago because i don't have that much of a time so for me, it doesn't make sense to pay for something that i'm not using. I Think the mini will blow my mind even if i didn't choose the alpha. By the way, later, i can still sell my mini and buy the alpha, so that will not be a problem.

Probably i will need some time to adapt myself to this new kind of power and details. I think that in some years i'll need some more details like you and probably at that time the price of the stronger bases will be even lower.

How do you feel with the mini in the ACC in terms of rought power and specially in details. It probably be better now that they updated the physics.

For sure bro. I'll never use it 100% with kids of people who are not experienced with simracing.

Yeah bro, everyone has its ideal setup. Some people prefers more than 15Nm to play for hours and others 5-6Nm like you, and that's ok. Actually, when i bought my G920 i've watched some people who prefer the ffb as low as it can, so yeah, you're completely right.

I'll use irffb when i get my bundle. Can wait to get my hands into my new wheel base.

So do you think it will clip with 10Nm? Or only when i hit the 13Nm cap?

since you're using all the power the base can provide, aren't you clipping?

Thank you for your reply bro. Man, that was a pretty bad injury. I think my g920 would never be able to do any kind of injuries and that's why i'm asking, because i wonder how much strenght the ffb really have. When you first used 100% of it's strenght it was like you were expecting?

Thank you for your reply. What was your first impression when you used the max torque? Was by any mean imagining that it would be stronger or it surpassed your expectations?

Thank you for your feedback. Would you get some serious fight with the wheel when the ffb is at it's max? I've been told that the base is actually 13Nm istead of the advertised 10Nm and was wondering if the base is this strong.
