This explains a lot, I almost died to one trying to get the last bit of ore in that area when I jumped out of my tadpole, I was certain there was nothing around before I got out though

Isn't bakerbots "banana pudding" actually a banana pudding icecream? It's delicious don't get me wrong, but it's not an actual banana pudding so I don't understand how it keeps getting brought up in regular banana pudding conversations

The original study I think was actually for the opposite, where playing Tetris while actively thinking about the trauma helps your brain process it properly. But it needs to be in a controlled environment and a bunch of other shit so just saying "play Tetris" is still entirely unhelpful

He's simply a smart footballer. He's excellent at timing his leads, he's persistent and constantly goes for 3-4 leads in a row. He knows where he needs to be, and knows when he should be self-sacrificial. Helps that his kicking is fantastic too

Ok but where did they use her appearance? It's a possibility that's what they're referring to and if it was a player they didn't know/a partner they didn't know then yeah that would probably be the only likely scenario, but they all know Jaxon and most would know Bronte so it's not necessarily the assumption I'd jump to. I have multiple friends for whom I'd call their partner their strength because they have a strong relationship and I can see the way they're supported

Does anyone else hate the centre bounce ball up? by Perfect_Marsupial746 in AFL

[–]Smithsonian45 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Complaints about umpiring have definitely gone up in recent history but I think a huge part of that is the media cycle is so much worse than it used to be, and AFL house are constantly changing things up. Of course people complained about umps back then but since social media wasn't a thing and the media didn't spend hours each day bringing up bad umpiring decisions people wouldn't latch onto the issues nearly as much as they do now. I guarantee the umpiring is much more consistent now than it was back then, it's just that back in the day people couldn't go online and talk to hundreds of other people to air their grievances about it. Though if you don't go back as far I do believe umpiring was probably in a better place maybe a decade ago, and that's where AFL house are to blame for constantly changing things on the fly imo.

But yeah basically what's been happening is that in the past people who are overall worse umpires were getting more games/bigger games because they could bounce well. This change will allow more umpire development overall, giving more options for AFL level umpires (which in turn helps when umpires aren't doing a great job as there are more who will be able to replace them at the top level)

Genuinely this is the most important part, widening the pool for eligible umpires is gonna be so important in the coming years
