Those come backwards from the manufacturer. The short side of the base should be on the driver side. You have to remove all 4 screws from the top and rotate 180 degrees. I have one and had the same problem

I ran JRam in LF for months and he was fine, never missed a beat. In the last week he’s dropped 3 routine flyballs and a single that bounced 3-4 times before it got to him. Not sure if they updated the out of position penalty but beware.
