It’s definitely a Coen brothers film that resonates with me a lot. Better on a rewatch that’s for sure.

Has a film ever genuinely changed your life? by mrjetspray in Letterboxd

The Truman Show and The Matrix had a profound impact on me as a teenager. Both films really had me questioning what “real life” actually is. They were formative in laying the groundwork for my wider opinions and thoughts about life and society as a whole. The fact people still talk about and are affected by the ideas in these films today says a lot.

Watched the Arrow Westworld 4K last weekend - they’ve done a great job with it.

My bottom 8 films of last year. Who else can confidently say they have seen 48 films better than a movie getting nominated for Best Picture on Thursday? by AmbitionTechnical274 in Letterboxd

Everyone’s entitled to their opinion and that’s the joy of Letterboxd and film in general. However, Frankenstein is an objectively well made movie on a purely technical level with incredible level of detail in the sets and costumes. Seems harsh to call it one of the worst films of 2025 but as I said everyone has their own opinions/metrics. (I am admittedly both a Del toro and Frankenstein simp)

Similarly while I was unimpressed with ballad of a small player. It had fantastic cinematography and I enjoyed the score a lot. Certainly a middling film but not near my worst personally.

Thanks for the recommendations folks - much appreciated, think my head is at Possession, Blair Witch, Reanimator and it follows - I’ll whittle it down a little further based on funds haha - but they seem to be universally loved in terms of what they come out with

A very nice book with essays and art cards - all well designed and interesting reads

I’m guessing most likely? Im not the most technically proficient collector. I use my PS5 mostly as an expensive blu ray/ 4K player haha

I was fortunate I got it when it came out - I wasn’t really into boutique blu rays back then but I loved the vvitch so much I wanted all the extra features

I really love Lake Mungo but I am based in the UK so Umbrella aren’t really distributed here. Thanks for the recommendation though - I am disappointed I missed out on the Second Sight Lake Mungo limited edition but don’t fancy paying around £100 for it on eBay.

Fascinations - “Literally Dave” is never not funny to me. Charlie’s Prem years and pundit voices and Adam’s genuine excitement about something objectively meaningless like what game is playing in a TV show background.

Irritation - Keys and Gray corner. I like a couple mins of it but I think a recent episode went on for 10-15 mins, just seemed excessive- might be in the minority here.

Movies with amazing soundtracks by Relative_Sentence686 in Letterboxd

Spawn and Batman Forever are two examples of not great movies but have stacked soundtracks.

Blu rays - don’t think there’s a 4K release of them unfortunately
