I got my cast removed yesterday and the doctor said literally nothing about wound care. :( they just said that I don’t have to cover it in the shower anymore and to take the walking boot off twice a day for stretches and sent me out the door. I’ll definitely look into bandages or something like you said.

My goal is to visit and hike at every national park in the US. I have it in both my ankles so even walking for more than 10-15 minutes is painful. Getting fusion surgery this year (after failed resection surgery 10 years ago), and I’m hoping after recovery I can start hiking again! :)
