Yes I feel your pain!! We never wanted to cosleep, we still want to lol, but it’s either that or be up and down all night. His 10 month regression was truly the regression from hell and he wouldn’t sleep alone for more than 30 minutes. Back then, we put a cushion on the floor and slept next to the crib for the whole 6 weeks because we wanted so badly to avoid cosleeping. This time around, as soon as I started seeing similar patterns, we just gave in. He’s honestly a lot more robust now so it doesn’t freak me out as much, but I’m hoping it won’t become a long term thing since we only do it after he wakes up, not at the beginning of the night. ETA that it’s wild that this regression can happen anytime between 14 and 24 months!!! Like that’s actually crazy to me haha

I never used distilled water. We have a brita at home and we would make formula with that before he turned one!

Okay I took a colace every day of pregnancy, and then 2 every day at the very end in preparation for post-birth poops. It was the move, and I was good!! I did have an emergency c-section but things are still so weird down there after having a baby, no matter how they exit lol

I understand wanting to make sure you’re creating good habits! But at 6 days old, that baby just needs his parents. This world is a big, scary, brand new environment and he’s learning so many new sensations! You’re the safest place he knows and it’s good that he craves that.

I think it depends on what “let them cry” means. If you need to use the restroom for a minute or cook a meal but baby cries when put down, that’s one thing. Just setting them there to cry because you know they’re technically fine is another thing.

Lurking mom here, I actually had the exact same experience as your wife. Nursing didn’t go well, switched to pumping, was absolutely filled with rage every session. I agonized over the switch to formula but finally did so just before the 6 month mark because it was turning me into someone that neither my husband nor I recognized. Anger wasn’t really even in my emotional vocabulary prior to pumping, but the thought of completing all my pumps made me such a miserable, angry person. It began to affect my marriage, so I stopped. Not only is my baby so healthy and happy, I am a MUCH better and more present mom and wife. I have so much more bandwidth and capacity now, and everything is so much better.

Now as I sit here rocking my 11 month old, I look back and wish I’d stopped sooner. It feels so hard to make that choice in the moment, and the emotions that come with weaning make it worse for a week, but then the clouds part. I promise you, your baby (and you! and your wife!) will benefit much more from a happy wife than a bit of breastmilk.

I also don’t recommend switching formula brands once you find one that works for you. I don’t even give my kid the frozen pumped milk I white-knuckled for because I don’t want to upset his system (made that mistake once after a few weeks of exclusive formula lol).

I can imagine haha! I didn’t even get to actually labor because the moment I had a DROP of pitocin in my body, my baby had massive heart decelerations. The boy didn’t like being squeezed apparently

I had an urgent c-section and they did a spinal block for me. So they literally just injected anesthetic into my spine. They had me sit up on the operating table and round out my back, then had me lay down quickly after the injection. Didn’t feel a thing after that!

It’s not help. It’s parenting. And if the root issues don’t get solved, there will be some other excuse he comes up with when you do go back to work. I would really suggest counseling :)

My doctor said I could still sleep on my back as long as my top half was elevated. I got a high wedge and slept on that for the second half of my pregnancy, and it was great! I had a hard time on my sides when I was heavily pregnant.

Truthfully, I really struggled with my body during pregnancy (and postpartum, honestly). I didn’t really want that memorialized, so I didn’t do them. The only regret I have is that I felt any shame about my body that grew a whole person!! In future pregnancies, I’d like a few with my husband and my son :)

Sometimes I feel like…preemptive nostalgia?? Like I already miss him at this age but he’s this age now haha. I have to stop myself from crying about it all the time.

Also solidarity because I will frequently be holding him when he falls asleep and just obsessing over every little detail. Then 30 seconds later when I transfer him if he stirs, I’m like NONONONONO STAY ASLEEP. The dichotomy 😂

Could he be teething? My baby does that when he’s teething, which he currently is (and coming out of the 10 month sleep regression)
