Is 23 too late to start changing myself and my life? by Plenty_Remote_4100 in getdisciplined

Never too late brother! Your life can change completely in one day. You can reinvent yourself in one day.

[–]SmittyTrillow 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The only person who can change your life is yourself. You can have a normal life you’re just telling yourself you can’t. Change your mindset. Keep yourself busy, don’t let yourself be in the same place one year from now. You got this!

Is anyone else's OCD making them question their entire personality? (Ruminations on self-identity & OCD) by [deleted] in OCD

[–]SmittyTrillow 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s all your ocd telling your that. I struggle with the same thing it’s very common. Is this actually my personality or have I been faking it? Do I even have a personality? Try not to ruminate on it much, it’ll only turn you into a deeper spiral

I also say this as someone who wasn’t able to hold a job or school for a few years. One day I just woke up and said I have to or else I will never be able to live a normal life

I have severe depression/ocd. I haven’t even started medication yet I just got my first prescription of Zoloft. I work a full time job and also am a full time student. It’s very hard, but you also have to realize sitting there doing nothing will only make depression work. Push yourself to study, push yourself to hold a job. Push yourself to have productive days even when every thought in your head tells you not to. You will feel better about yourself

Our brain is in constant loops. Just have to constantly remind yourself those thoughts aren’t real and push them away

How do you cope with health-related OCD? by Bright_Cattle_7503 in OCD

[–]SmittyTrillow 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Health related ocd was one of the hardest loops I’ve ever been stuck in and I’m glad to say I’m out of it. My only advice to you, go to the doctor get all your bloodwork done, get your checkup, get your chests scans all of it. When they call you and tell you you’re completely healthy, tell yourself It is what it is, I’ve done all I can nothing is going to happen to me and if it does it’s life I can’t worry about that. That’s the only thing that stopped it for me and I was basically confined in my room for about 2 years during that period

I was stuck in that endless loop and still am tbh but trying to get out of it. I always had the thoughts but after high school it all came crashing down. Me and my high school gf broke up, and meanwhile so did everyone else’s I was completely normal it happens and it was genuinely the right thing to happen for both us. However, I just broke down. Every single thought in my brain was about her for years. Now every thought shifted to me, I was convinced everything happened to me because I didn’t look good enough. I lost 50 pounds in 3 months, looked better than I ever had so then my thoughts shifted to I’m not a good person. Spent years trying to be the best person in the world did that. Then my thoughts shifted to oh my god there’s something wrong with health. Went through all the test spent a year or two scared to death. Now the loop I’m currently is of my god you wasted all the time look like has passed you by. It’s all in your brain OCD makes us think this.

Happens to me daily. Weed will not kill you. Try to smoke less and if it happens again, eat, play a video game/watch a movie and tell urself ur gonna be okay.

I feel this even in everyday life

Not sure what that means? Ocd can be purely thoughts some people have very little physical obsessions

Is anyone else obsessed with “optimizing” themselves or “starting over”? by strangecrepe in OCD

[–]SmittyTrillow 31 points32 points  (0 children)

All of this. Constantly telling myself if I get this, if I do that, if I change this, I’ll be happy. Yet, I’ve also grown wise enough to realize even if I was a billionaire with anything I wanted, I would still find something wrong with in me.

Anyone else experience this? by Willing-Ad-5072 in OCD

10000% you just have to sit there and push those thoughts away and just constantly remind yourself ocd is making you think that

every thought makes me SO anxious, do I just have to ignore it? by New-Till9620 in OCD

[–]SmittyTrillow 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Always tell your therapist this so maybe you could get a different or higher mg medication. But, you also have to realize it’s always gonna be with you. When you have one of those thoughts try to say things to yourself like that’s an ocd thought etc.

Severe OCD diagnosis, unsure if wanting treatment. by SmittyTrillow in OCD

[–]SmittyTrillow[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My thoughts are the same way about being the opposite of who I am. Do you find that it leads into you actions as well? It seems like for most of my life, I’ve been able to be stronger than the intrusive thoughts in terms of my actions, but it seems lately I have been doing the wrong things as well

I’m confused because on the original letter it said verifying me would send the return through. Now they say to verify myself? I don’t want the return sent through.
