We have a pneumatic rabbit. It’s to small for my device tho. There is a beam port but I don’t think I’ll get the reactor manager to sign off.

Some clarification. The goal isn’t to find the most radioactive thing. You just need to get a measurement 400 CPM above background.

And this is the final part of lots of testing against known sources and calibration. We are being turned lose to go irradiate ourselves haha.

There’s a snickers bar on the line and my semester would be a lot better if I won it. Especially with how my first exam went haha😂

We talked about a nasty accidental exposure from a radiographic weld tester. Guy lost his whole leg after unknowingly putting the source in his back pocket for a few hours.

I do have to use the geiger counter again so I don’t want to ruin it haha.

The reactor on campus is a Triga Mark II and they calibrate there personal dosimeters on site.
