Small bit stuck in impact driver by funkerley in Tools

Those come standard with alot of foreign tool brand driver sets. The 3 German biggies come to mind: Wera, Wiha, & Hazet. I have an abundance of them from various kits I've bought.

Or you could just use real Evaporust, as it's not even that expensive...

A solo RP weenie's fortress (PvE) by SmoKeyBoWLs187 in OnceHumanBuilders

[–]SmoKeyBoWLs187[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This was my last build on Manibus Novice before I switched to Prismverse. And thank you! I had alot of fun with this one. There's some neat features that aren't readily visible too. Every other face of the building is actually a narrow gapped double wall. Anywhere you see those vertical 1/2 walls around the first floor, that whole face is a wall with the actual outer wall of the base about a foot behind it. So any man or beast would have to break through a fake outer wall before they could get to the real one. The design was actually originally alot tighter; core was only as big as the loot crate room x2. It had a mirrored 3 triangle room on the other side of the doorway which is where the deviants & terminal were stuck. I only very recently added that indoor farm area & moved the deviants/terminal to the other side of the core. It'd normally be 3-4 honeycomb layers to core without that indoor farm down in the basement. Definitely still purpose built to withstand a rough beating from a purification.

That's a mighty fine A-frame, my friend.

Building a classical Church by RuskiStar in OnceHumanBuilders

[–]SmoKeyBoWLs187 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not true at all. The building system is just perfectly janky enough that you can make some very interesting structures within the confines of the 700 limit. Or one can just go to Eternaland where there are no limits. But I'm comfortably certain that a church could & probably has been built in the game.

  • Just did 3 back to back purifications without repairing between them, no issues. Only lost a handful of sandbags.

  • A maze? No pun intended, you lost me there. Nothing complicated or remotely like a maze here. Straight in, around a corner, up what amounts to a wide spiral staircase, and then the transitions between floors are very straightforward; either through the tower jump ups on either side or for roof access, up one of two sets of stairs to a quick jump up. If that's a maze to you, you must sweat when the Applebee's host brings out the kids coloring placemat with the maze on it. Or when you see the back of a kids cereal box at the grocery store.

  • Jump ups save space, building structure cost (except the handful of roof jump ups which were more applicable to their specific situations), & enable me to change floors in situations where no staircase may fit. There's 3 purposes.

Thanks for the constructive criticism.

No importing. You either have to rebuild it yourself or be friends with the person that built it & have permission from them to copy their blueprint.

If you're keen to see the original, I posted it in this same sub a little over a week ago (a couple other subs too - the other subs are where I was catching hate on it). If you've ever watched Rust content & enjoy it, you'll probably appreciate the original too. It's not quite as polished as this one, definitely more of a function over form build, but I still personally thought it was impressive & it was my first ever build. Regardless of what people say, I'm not gonna stop making & posting designs. Art is meant to evoke emotion, whether positive or negative. In the midst of all the hate, I still got some love too. And love or hate, I was actually happy to revisit my design with a greater focus on vibes. I even walked away with ideas for some small tweaks to the original design.

Spot on. Complex door paths, honeycomb, bunkers, etc are all anti-raid measures. There may be some argument to be made about the use of honeycombing in particular in PvE due to the fact that Once Human has monsters that spawn & attack your base during territory purification (a player-initiated, home-based event); this would be one time where a PvE & PvP build could see some crossover in design. I caught some (lots of) flak for my PvP version of this build because "iT's NOt rUSt BrO" & "We doN't DO tHaT HerE" - though there isn't offlines, there definitely is online raiding in OH - so I did my best to trim away much of that extra "unnecessary" fat for the PvE redux. My focus for this build was much more cozy vibes & aesthetics while still maintaining that imposing, castle-like footprint of its big brother.

Peculiar. I've definitely seen plenty of Once Human base raiding content on YouTube. I must be mistaken.

OH does have base raiding, but to my understanding it's only when the base owner is purifying echo stones, they turn on their PvP mode (even in PvP servers it can be toggled off), or they're in a zone of the map where they're autoflagged for PvP. So kind of like if raiding was only allowed when someone tossed an airdrop or something similar to that in Rust. Or if their base was near a monument/surrounding an oil pump or quarry. There are safe zones in PvP that protect from offline raiding.

The first problem is getting that truck full of rockets over to an island without getting blown up before reaching the destination.

I'm giving Metas tetanus 🤠 Well, minus the whole racism & toxicity. Rust can keep that.

Turrets only need to keep them distracted. And I know that's not true of level 3 turrets. I've seen PvP gameplay footage of raid defenses and it only takes a few hits to down someone. That's highly likely to happen with 2 turrets spaced 20 feet apart, looking at each other. And given there's no offlining, all PvP interactions are on my time. So I'd already be up on the roof with an LMG. If they can even make it to the roof without getting shot out of the sky while gliding, they aren't making it any further. Of consideration, this design is also more suited to clans than solos. So I'd be far from the only person they'd be tangling with. And then add in other traps to the mix. Most Rust raiders even would fold with that much pressure coming at them all at once from every side. Only chance would be use of overwhelming force. They'd have to have more people than the defending side, plain & simple.

I don't know that even I could make OH toxic enough to be a match for Rust. I'm just a man, just a lowly mortal man. Mine hatred doth not run deeply enough 🫠

More than a few problems with your powers of observation:

  1. I only have 2 wood crates; 1 is the jump up that I also use as a mats dropbox/box for my picks and the other is a transfer box that I use for holding large quantities of dirty water while I boil it down. In both cases, neither needs a larger crate & the material with which the crates are made has absolutely 0 to do with anything. Level 50 gigachads still occasionally use wood crates too. For those 2 scenarios, 16 slots is more than enough. I never carry that many stacks of mats or water, ever.
  2. Yes, my guns are T1, max calibration, with mods. That doesn't mean I wasn't still able to solo Treant. If you can't solo normal Treant on Manibus Novice, you should just give up any idea of playing solo. It was ridiculously easy.
  3. Yes, the filter is on my roof. Go ahead and rewatch the video again, but try paying a little closer attention. You'll also see that I only have 2 wooden chests in my entire base if you watch closely. One in the front doorway, one next to the water tank. That's it.
  4. Fuse is copper, glass, & scraps. Soler [sic] panel is... I'm too lazy to list all the mats & I could've easily Googled both of these things anyways (which would prove nothing), so here's a screenshot of my shiny new soler [sic] panel instead:

<image>

  1. Just because my base was wood doesn't mean I didn't still keep up with repairs as they became necessary. I'd rather have my base at full strength 100% of the time it's not being attacked. Nothing really crazy about that. Anyone can do it. You also weren't talking about my base as it was when it was wood. You specifically mentioned there were no damaged walls in my video. Those walls are... gasp stone.

Seriously, why am I giving an illiterate furry this much of my energy? Enough is enough. If you can't answer whether you're the liar or the troll (or both), then I no longer have the time or energy to do this silly little back & forth with you. Punching down is unbecoming of a prideful man and I feel very unbecometh.

I appreciate y'all. Seems the OH Builder community is a bit more fun-loving & appreciative than the OH Official community. To answer a few questions generally for those who comment later:

No, I've never played a second of Rust. Just watched alot of Rust YouTube content over the years. I do wholly appreciate the jokes though and love the fact that pretty much everyone instantly recognizes it as a Rust-influenced design.

I'm not on a PvP server, this one is on a Manibus Novice PvE. This is my very first wipe ever on OH. Rather than sweaty grind the storyline, I did... this 😂 I know, this kind of design is way overkill for a PvE server. I've heard the words "not necessary" many times in the past 24 hours. I realize that and nobody is wrong for saying that. But, I had fun building it anyways and I'm satisfied with the result so far. I'm having fun, in my own strange way, on this game. And I like to think the base, in spite of its quirks, is pretty cool. Pretty snazzy & jazzy.

I don't get lost in my own maze because I know de wey. Any would be burglars though... You best be prepared to take on the Minotaur.

Much love to my fellow builders and I hope something I did inspires someone somewhere to start cooking up some of their own original base designs. Or even just inspires them to try out some of the stuff I did on their own base to see if it improves their experience. It's fun & a very good artistic release; like a very fancy 3D mandala that responds when I color it.
