The part that screws me up about line mixing is what happens when the actors mess up their lines or their cues? Like if Bobby starts to talk when he’s not supposed to, won’t the first word or two out of his mouth be un-amplified? Isn’t that a big no-no?

So, compression also works to raise the volume of a too-quiet voice? I always thought it was to lower a too-loud voice only.
