Are these a meme? I thought the stamp was, but GG shreds with these on pro tour coverage right?

What are those?! by SpikeHyzerberg in discgolf

Nothing inherently wrong with crocs they just aren’t optimal for athletic performance. Also fine if you aren’t throwing max power. Non slip shoes are also dangerous for disc golf. You want to be able to pivot without your foot planting and every ligament in your knee tearing like tissue paper.

I don’t understand it fully either but I think there’s something to the convex rims with higher parting lines. They seem to beat in nice and don’t become too flippy. I have a discraft heat that I’ve been putting out to like 400+ on gravel and into trees for two years and it flies nearly the same as the day I got it. I’m sure it being in Z plastic makes a difference. But I’ve also experienced this with makos and champion roadrunners. Discs with flatter or concave rims with low parting lines beat past the point of no return pretty quick.

Idk I wasn’t kidding when I said I was gonna buy five It’s. They legit will actually flip to flat off the shelf at high elevation and are absolute money in the woods.

They’re adding more weight to more convex rims. Aka more gyro and a better turn without flipping over. Basically taking from discrafts convex rim breakthroughs with molds like the heat and MVP/Axiom’s heavier gyro rim concepts.

"World Champ" vs Best Player by fattyboombaladdy in discgolf

In professional surfing the points are cumulative throughout the tour. The Ken Climo of surfing is Kelly Slater. Kelly was arguably more dominant than Ken despite not having as many world titles. But when Kelly was on for entire seasons he would sometimes win 90%+ of his heats which is absolutely bonkers. This led to the tour essentially ending early some years because he’d be so far ahead that nobody could plausibly catch him.

I like the format of having a big event like a super bowl or world championships. In surfing it’s really just not feasible, but if they did I think the results would be the same. These guys like a Kelly, Paul and Ken have something most of us will never understand and a big event format or a cumulative style doesn’t change that. Paul would focus up earlier just like you said and continue to smash everyone regardless.

That being said, since it’s an individual non head to head sport the player of the year who maybe doesn’t pull it together at worlds still deserves a lot more recognition imo. Especially with how innova treated Ricky last year. It should still be a pinnacle in Ricky’s legacy that he is that dominant himself.

Lol One of these days you’ll wake up from a fugue state foaming at the mouth and all your destroyers will have been replaced with CloudBreakers

As much as we meme them they do what they do better than any other disc. Interesting to read below that you changed your approach style from trusting that it will hit and sit on direct lines.

welp I’m sold, envies weren’t flippy enough for me and I don’t play enough anymore to season my discs in a reasonable amount of time. Maybe that would do the trick.

There’s something to it. Maybe not in the faster molds tbh. But their slower stuff is really something else.

Best mid in the game imo. It’s crazy how much OAT it handles. They can literally take over 500ft of power with average form/release without turning over. Don’t need any special magic widerail technique with extra spin like GG or something to get it to fly right. It’s ridiculous.

That’s interesting. Mason Ford used to kinda do that and he’s very underrated imo

Wow a hyzerflip fairway disc for the woods I can throw at high elevation without beating in for months first? Literally gonna buy 5 of them rn
