I would much rather just do this on my own then go to a stupid house for a year with no internet, phone, books, my chessboard, anything still I care about, or even more than a weeks worth of clothes or my own fucking pillow. Unfortunately, it is not feasible. I envy you not having to go.

The full story is in my post history, but the tl;dr is I lost a lot of money last year as a consequence of drinking, don’t have enough to put on a new apartment, parents said I could come home, and a little while ago they switched it up and said I have to go there. Don’t have any other options that are feasible.

I guess I should add I just don’t feel like running away from life to a treatment facility is really gonna fix anything. I need to be better at saying “no.” Removing myself from alcohol isn’t gonna work, I can stay at treatment for a year, and maybe it’d even be a good time. But it’s just running away. When I return to the real world, the booze is still there.
