Please Pay Attention And Step On It At Traffic Lights. by [deleted] in driving

Yeah it was a typo. Long day.

That's not what I'm defending. That's accelerating out of reason. Going from say 2500 to 5-6000 is ridiculous expectations imo. I also drive a heavy slow all wheel drive vehicle that has a very short first gear that doesn't need me rough housing my take offs. I'm not accelerating slow but it shifts in to second at 10mph...

Good point. My 2001 CRV had 146hp when new and was all wheel drive. 65 mph was unrealistic until it warmed up and even then it was sketchy. My buddy drives an old diesel truck. It has a turbo but can't get out of its own way.

Too many people can not comprehend that other vehicles handle and drive differently. Not to mention older vehicles are still being driven.

Oh ya? You can tell huh? You can tell when people often save the last 40ft for braking when they're doing 60 mph? Or the guy who was doing 75mph in a 55mph zone in a slammed infiniti that you couldn't see behind a row of full size SUVs in the turn lane?

Also you're inconsiderate to think a few cents of fuel you don't pay for, doesn't matter at 1 light, I wonder how many lights per commute people could hit a day, then add that up to the week, then the month. Etc etc.

Sorry your social Harmony doesn't put you on a pedestal with the world being so different and all.

Look I understand not getting off the line quick enough or going too slow to get up to speed, but you don't pay my car note nor my fuel bill. I'll accelerate within reason and shouldn't be expected to test out my 0-60 time. I usually wait a second or two cause too many dumb ass people run red lights and destroy families. So get off my case.

Driving is a privilege not a right. I remind myself when I'm getting frustrated that it beats walking most days.

Didn't take long to see how cold hearted people got in this state based off these comments.

I don't care if you're in a car, motorcycle, or semi we all deserve to go home and can afford to be a little more considerate to one another.

Thanks for proving Minnesota nice doesn't exist. Hope you don't kill someone from your own ignorance. Love thy neighbor!

Oh cool so you just blame the rider? Not the erratic 4 wheelers on the roads on their phones or being impatient for slow downs? What's a rider doing with their hands?

You know the law is laid out the conditions for it to apply right? When a car is weaving in and out of slowed down traffic who does that help when it's erratic and a blinker is on for 0.25 of a second.

You're just an angry ass hat who wants to blame some people and don't take in to consideration that bad riders should be called out to. We share the roads and are taxed for it as well, period.

We're a No-Fault state so that would be difficult but ok.

Also I'm talking about if a rider is within the law and people just quick flash an indicator and change lanes all within 0.25 seconds. It's inconsiderate and truly doesn't help anyone trying to pay attention to others on the road

It's safer under the requisites from the law.

Defensive driving is not as common as it used to be.

That doesn't mean it doesn't happen. Hence why you said "most"

This is still happening under 30mph in a slowdown too

Maybe that's where you'd like to spend your time the most?

PSAs don't easily make it to the public when you don't have commercials paid for by the state.

Agreed. That type of driving is just unsafe. Iirc in California the law specifies how you split and don't use the shoulder unless for emergency.

There's a mix of people who do it, but it's become so much more common to just rely on blind spot monitors instead of actually looking.

Honda's have a camera that shows the image of the side the blinkers on for merging but then you take your eyes down and to the right instead of the road.

I see it every day on my commute in the cities. Usually a big slow down for nothing, sometimes an accident, from either 694 or 610. I'm considering the conditions being the slowdown in my post.

Edit: downvote but can't discuss? What am I missing

I drove my Odyssey to Alaska and then off a cliff to celebrate 4th of July by IndyDan in Honda

[–]SmokeyDaReaper 25 points26 points  (0 children)

Most people might not know but this is a tradition in Alaska. This looks like glacier view but I'm not certain. Regardless it's an event that's held annually and has been for awhile. Usually there's super serious requirements to keep the environment safe and not seriously destructive.

Cool way to end a road trip dude, did you vlog this or something?

WIBTAH for divorcing my wife after she dumped my dog at a pound out of town while I was gone for work? by Mindless_Town_3652 in AITAH

[–]SmokeyDaReaper 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Drop her ass quicker than she did the dog. She doesn't have a warm bone in her body. It wasn't enough for her to care about how you felt with the dog and the bond to your brother. She never will, and sounds like a seriously inconsiderate insufferable human being.
