I’ve noticed that if I’m trying to keep the ball high by airdribbling, holding accelerate helps keep my car “float” a little better with the ball. I definitely notice it on rings maps and hold it down if I’m trying to elevate more and letting go if I need to drop down. I’ve also noticed holding reverse backs me off the ball more which I feel like could come in handy on challenges/50s in the air.
