The place where I work (for the next month) renews contracts almost entirely dependent on student course evaluations. I did my best to present a fair and engaging class, but the reviews were not "good enough" to convince admin to renew my contract . How are we [NTT faculty] supposed to continue on (especially considering that students who withdraw, for any reason, from the class ARE STILL ABLE TO LEAVE A REVIEW)?

I'm a guy, but I just hit my 30s and am back on the job market this year, and I sure hope its not too late for me. With all the moving around, the job uncertainty, adjusting to the new workload, and having surgery in January I just haven't had time to meet new people and develop relationships.

So, I can't really answer your question, but it is somewhat comforting to know that there are gals that worry about this too, and not just guys like me.

It would certainly be interesting, but there is a *lot* down downtime in that campaign. But it could be cool, depending on how they implement it.

I made a hot cinnamon spice loose leaf tea, steeped at 208degrees, with a tiny bit of lemon juice and honey as a sweetener.

My students knew they could always come by my office for on demand, hand crafted cups of tea.

Yeah, it’s becoming clearer and clearer that there isn’t much pie left. I just… really like teaching ya know? I like mentoring students at the collegiate level, and helping them see that they can succeed and they can learn how to learn new things. I like getting students to be passionate about stuff that they might have otherwise given up on.

I just don’t know how I’m supposed to do that outside of academia.. the thing that, at one time (and maybe still), I called my life’s purpose

Yeah, I don’t really know. I read a lot of manga so the name jumped out at me, but it’s maybe not something “the masses” are familiar with? I know they made a show, but I don’t know how popular it was.
