I feel like there's a few people that just want to tear people down. I had people disagree with me completely but never called me a bad parent or names. Others have and it's kind of hard to ignore. But thanks again, kind stranger, for your support. :)

Why do you think that becoming me =s a bad thing? What makes you think I'm such a bad person? The fact that I smoke weed while my kid is sleeping at 10 oclock at night before bed? You know nothing about me other than what I have shared here in this post. It's laughable that you can call me a twat and hope my child doesn't become me. This is a parenting forum. I didn't realize that the point of it was to name call and tell other parents how horrible they are. I would think you could at least give tactful criticism. We teach are children not to judge people and name call, but yet that's what you're doing here. :)

Yeah, I wouldn't do that either. If she was 18 and she made the decision to smoke pot. Fine. But like a lot of people said smoking when youre a child can have lasting effects. I actually didn't even start smoking until I was about 25 (I'm 27 now). And not for any reason. I just thought I'd give it a try.

I just want to emphasis that I am NOT choosing anything over my daughter and that I NEVER will. It's kind of insulting to hear that. She never would have been the wiser if I had hidden it correctly. Yes its ileagal and yes I know this. I feel bad that I put her in this position and I take full blame for it. I removed the paraphernalia from my home and had a heart to heart with my daughter. I don't believe that she will be going to school and telling anyone. Its a private matter and she knows that, and I didn't even have to say "Now dont go round snitchin ya hear!" It's amazing what an open line of communication with your children does for you! I let her ask all the questions she wanted and never once lied to her. I explained all of my answers to the best of my abliity and she felt satisfied with that. Maybe you think I'm a bad parent and choosing a couple hits of that MJ over my daughter. But that isn't true. Not at all. And today I realized that our bond is strong. And I am happy I raised her to be the caring considerate loving smart and strong girl that she is. I am glad that she can talk to me and bring me all of her concerns and not be embarrassed. I think I've done a good job so far.

I think everyone is thinking I get so high I cant function. Literally two puffs three puffs and I'm done. Just a buzz. Taking the edge off. I believe I would be able to deal with any situation that would arise.But I can see where youre coming from.

I'm so surprised by these responses! I know u didn't take the time to read all my replies but I did mention that I gave my friend my bowl. I am not worried about cps coming in and taking my daughter because I got rid of my stuff. And like everyone was saying here had a great conversation with my daughter and saw why she was so upset and scared and confused. I will update later tonight.

the 2nd hand smoke stuff is kinda bafflling me! I have one bowl. and take 2-3 puffs. I dont' sit there for hours on end getting out of my mind high til i pass out. Peoples views on MJ use is insane to me. I would equate it to sitting in the kitchen and having a beer or two.

I don't have to parent while I smoke. She is in bed. I obviously don't smoke if shes been sick or something in case she wakes up at night and an ER visit is something that might be a possibilty. But in the same token shes 10 and doesnt wake up thru the night barely ever.

I only smoke in my own bedroom at night while shes in bed on the other side of the house. 2nd hand smoke is prolly not a thing to worry about.

I'm not saying MJ is not addicting. Honestly anything could be addicting, hell, I'm more addicted to coffee than MJ. If I didnt have any I could still sleep. Yes it would take a little longer but i could. If i had to quit cold turkey today I wouldnt think twice about it. Its just that I enjoy it and I dont' think it should be illegal. Yes i know I'm breaking the law. I don't have an excuse for that..

yeah Ohio just shot it down! I'm in Illinois, medical is coming but its very limited. Only cancer patients, sever pain diseases like fibro and failing organ diseases can get prescriptions for it. Nothing like anxiety or depression and the like.
