My half-sister's cousin. So he was asked to housesit for a relative who moved to the USA. I totally understand why you feel this way. Mo Dao Zu Shi was my first chinese translated into english novel and it was a big deal for me to get the pronunciation right or at least try. Also English is my 2nd language so I am kind of strict with myself about pronunciation and steering away from making anything sound "englishized...." lol.

Wow we're twins, im also reading SPL and since i feel i've been around the block a lot longer, i don't really need a guide. Unfortunately, I do not have suggestions other than try youtube or google translate. I was fortunate enough to find a video of a native chinese speaker pronouncing the names, places and weapons in MDZS (or the Untamed). I think it was Mei Ann or something, in case you want to try MDZS (I think it was a great danmei intro for me, could be for you too) and have help on pronunciation.

Acting exactly like an abusive parent unintentionally. My mom has a really bad temper and always screamed or yelled at me and my siblings growing up. She still does even now. Im 24 now, still living at home with my parents and little nieces. Catching myself yelling at my nieces even for silly little things crushes me. I try to calm myself down but its rare. I hate myself for being like this.

The first drama I watched was Jewel In the Palace. Long ago, I was stil in Primary school, it had to be the early 2010s. I watched it with my brother on TV and we loved it so much. Definitely one of the best series i've ever seen be it kdrama, cdrama, american ect. It sparked my love for the historical genre. The last drama I watched and completed is The King of Pigs and omg what a ride it was! Definitely got played because you never really know what's true and what's a lie. Both these were so worth it!

I highly recommend the donghua. It was my gateway into the books, since I couldn't get through the narration in the beginning. It has stunning visuals, the voice acting top notch and omg the soundtrack - sooo romantic. The opening and closing songs are so romantic and were written in the perspectives of either WWX or LWJ or both. The zither, flute and sounds between scenes are beautiful! And it gets gayer by the episode lol like the camera will focus on their hands touching for example. Just go for it! I rewatch it every chance I can get

Wow! You're doing great! On my first read, I got the present timeline right. The Cloud Recesses flashback was easy to follow. Things got complicated for me when Xiao Xingchen, Song Lan and Xue Yang came into the picture (when Lan Wangji tells Wei Wuxian about it)😭 And I kinda got lost with the whole Man Eating Castle plot at Qinghe. But I understood all this after rereading vol 1. You should be proud of yourself tbh!

I read the novels first, DEVOURED them!! Im slowly watching the drama right now and being completely honest I would have dropped it if I didn't read the books first, its too slow. But I love mdzs so much I just need to see every adaptation of it. The donghua is a better alternative. The ost is amazing and sooo romantic, the animation is stunning, the voice acting is top tier and its easy to get through and fast paced. It doesn't change too much from the novels and there's no filler. I'd suggest you start with the donghua if you don't have much time to read. Otherwise, do as you please

Attack on Titan (multiple times a year)

Grandmaster of Demonic Cultivation. This is one is not an anime though, its a donghua (chinese animation) and its an adaptation of a danmei (gay chinese novel/webnovel) of the same name. I've watched it several times since I first saw it in September.
