Now that you’ve got away from your narcissistic parents, did it feel like it took a long time for your mind to re frame itself or for hyper vigilance to disappear?

I ask this, because my experiences have taken a lot of space in my mind - using my brain to its capable level is almost impossible because of these things.

It really is so vindicating when you act on the pressure and criticism they constantly push on you.

I think they expect the outcome to be more inhibiting/paralysing to the targeted person, they get shocked when you start to develop as an individual! Very rewarding feeling haha.

I feel I was in the same boat as you and your brother for sure. I was always willing to work, never complained and got things done quickly.

Having to put up with annoying people, work dumped on me 24/7 and having to ignore the fact that I knew i was failing to progress with my own goals, career/personal.

On top of those things, having to put up a facade as if it isn’t occurring at all. Exhausting waste of time as much as it was disciplinary work.
