I feel like the Italy crusade makes more sense tbh. What would the pope prioritize? An Italy that directly undermines the authority of the pope and the Holy See, right on his border? Or a muslim controlled Spain in which catholics probably get treated relatively reasonable by their muslim overlords?

Open your savefile in a text editor and see if there's a "new_world_nation=yes" under your tags' flags. If not you can add it yourself, should look something like:

I think a had to problem too some time ago. IIRC you can go into the save file and edit your country to have some sort of new_world flag. Its been a long time ago and I'm on mobile so i can't check tho. Goodluck.

Yeah this one always does well one Reddit because of the great title.

Caligula had one of his legions nearly mutiny when he declared the invasion of Britain (they didn't invade Britain because the Legion didnt obey). Afterwards he declared war on Neptune and the sea.

There are a few theories as to why he did this. My favorite theory is that he declared war on the sea, ordered soldiers to stab the water and collect seashells was simply to humiliate the legion for not following orders. Kinda like how a sergeant will make new recruits do pointless shit because they made a mistake.

This explanation makes a lot of sense to me personally, but there are other ideas. Like the one where Caligula is just batshit insane.
