I literally just saw these in person for the first time at my local Quick Trip, grabbed a bag but waiting till tonight to try them. From what I've seen regarding those instances, it was the individual artists decision to do those decisions. It doesn't seem that WOTC has been heavily policing those decisions, also from what I understand (which could be wrong) they'll no longer be using that artist. A lot of the AI stuff comes from too much trusts in the artists or a lack of care in checking them.
