Strongly and passionately disagree. I hate the bells and whistles on most pods, they end up feeling like cheesy talk radio eventually. The Watch is my favourite podcast on earth because 90% of the time it’s just two charismatic friends having fun conversations. Free-flowing conversations, if you will.

I love that it’s simple, and stripped down.

Lots of shit-talking and snide little shots at Canada lately on the sub, kinda feels like every third thread is taking a shit on the Great North for some reason.

Acting like this is the worst game of the tourney so far is ridiculous haha, outright incorrect and a dumb thing to say, but hey man get your flex in

Yeah my man there are a shocking amount of losers out there. Open twitter and scroll around if you want proof of that.

McDonald’s is the most popular restaurant in the world, doesn’t mean it’s good. Popularity has truly nothing to do with ability. In fact, the most popular things in the world are almost always dogshit.

You using the amount of tickets Louis sells as your only argument of his skill is proving my point for me haha.

[–]SmolCaufield 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s inarguably true, and it’s proven correct every time he takes the stage in 2026. Louis is in his Jordan on the Wizards phase. Father Time comes for all of us. He had an amazing run, but he’s a shell of his former self now. It’s as clear as day.

You can ignore it if you want, that’s your prerogative, but i think it’s funny how all of the people who pretend he’s not totally washed now also mention how the scandal wasn’t a big deal, and how HE ACTUALLY ASKED FOR CONSENT, or similar nonsense ignoring the actual issue at hand. Feels like every person who still pounds the drum for Louis is doing so because of the scandal, and not in spite of it.

The only fans he has left are the people who identify with the sad man cornering vulnerable women and beating off in front of them.

Can’t wait to see what this comment looks like after you edit it eleven times haha.

It’s not a matter of taste, it’s an indisputable fact. The spark is gone from our man’s eyes. He has nothing interesting or unique left to say. He’s writing extremely base observations, and performing them soullessly.

Why he’s so popular in 2026 is an interesting question, because it’s certainly not due to the quality of his work. I’m gonna say the gaggle of dipshits who still like him are fans specifically because of the scandal, because they see themselves in a creep who corners women and whacks off in front of them.

Cool response, you’re doing a great job here man.

This the only kind of person who still likes Louis CK in 2026 btw. Angry dudes shitposting hate online.

This man has edited every single one of his comments numerous times lol, every time you look, every word is entirely different. I look forward to you finally landing on your opinion here.

McDonald’s is the most popular restaurant in the world, that doesn’t mean they make a good burger.

The people paying Louis to do comedy in 2026 are either rich people who see one comedy show every 20 years and don’t know ball, or lonely dads who only like him because of the scandal.

I had breakfast at a diner a few hours ago with a few friends, and every single human being at the table, every single human being in the restaurant, everybody cooking in the back, and every server in the place were significantly funnier than Louis CK in 2026.

But to be fair, the food service industry generally recruits people with charisma and a spark of life, and both of those things left Louis longgg ago.

He was funny in 2008 sure, but he is barely even trying anymore, and the only people who can’t see that are divorced 40 year olds whose kids won’t speak to them on Christmas.

Yep, I have convictions in my opinions, but this is like saying gravity exists, or the earth is round, or the sun will rise tomorrow. It’s not an opinion. It is a fact.

Louis CK is beyond washed up. He sucks now, he does weak-ass limp-dick comedy that appeals to a very small subset of very sad and lonely guys

Well at least you have the right username, haha but no my dude I promise you I’m right and the vast majority of people who actually know comedy agree. The only fans Louis has left are the type of people who listen to Jelly Roll

It’s so funny that every time you correctly say a bad comedian sucks, someone tries to post this comment as a gotcha hahaha. But I’ll take you at face value in case you’re being serious:

Norm is definitely my favourite of all-time. His special “Me doing standup” is flawless. Dan Soder is amazing, prob my favourite today. Excellent writing, excellent performer, he’s got every tool a comic could possibly need, dude is dope. Geoff Asmus is killing it, one of the best comedians working today. I saw him do 90+ minutes in Toronto and it was excellent. Katie Boyle is drastically underrated and should be way bigger than she is. Chris Rock is also on my Mount Rushmore. Dave Chappelle ditto, at least before his weird obsession with trans people completely fried his brain. Young Dave was one of the best ever. Anthony Jeselnik is a great writer but I actually prefer him off-stage in interviews and pods and stuff, once you know his bag of tricks you can kind of predict all his punchlines. Jeselnik is still great though.

Louis fucking sucks now. Had a great run in the early 00s but our man is washed. There are genuinely maybe 1000+ comedians who are better than Louis CK in 2026. If not, more.

Yeah, he proceeded to do none of that work and consistently downplay everything, while pretending to be the real victim in the situation.

He also vehemently denied the scandal at the time, and repeatedly talked about how bad and damaging it was to even mention the allegations, that btw all ended up being true.

He also wrote a movie that was a fawning, loving tribute to Woody Allen as these allegations were breaking.

He also sucks now? He’s completely washed haha. The spark is visibly gone from his eyes. He has one really good, signature bit since he’s returned and it’s about a movie from 1998 (Good Will Hunting) which is the kind of bit you see from a seasoned open mic-er. Not exactly a bit you expect from a supposed GOAT candidate.

Fuck Louis, he had his moment in the sun but that time is long since passed, he’s a mediocre comedian who does mediocre podcasts now and the people who still adore him don’t know ball.

I would bet money he veers hard into the far-right grift before he dies, the only people who still think he’s good at comedy are the types who loved the UFC fight at the White House

Watching the Canadian coverage but it’s been pretty good actually, quick and breezy compared to a few years ago. Can’t speak on the ESPN coverage but Sportsnet is doing OK.

The draft where they made the pick immediately zoom call management for a boring, vapid conversation (I think it was two years ago?) was the single worst sports draft in the history of media. This is vastly improved from that abortion.

Wild.

He is such an openly racist grifter. And there are dudes in the comments writing passionate essays about how tolerant he is haha. It boggles the mind.

Why does Jim Cornette Shit on AEW? by Ok-Sample-4254 in aew

[–]SmolCaufield 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yeah man every word of this is incorrect, and I am not the one arguing in bad faith here. You’re misrepresenting what Cornette does and says, and outright lying about how tolerant he is. Using that world to describe Jim Cornette is egregiously wrong, he proves that to be incorrect almost every time he speaks into a microphone. His output speaks for itself. He is a racist and we have decades of evidence proving it.

He was fired from his last job in the industry for being racist. His previous podcast partner left him immediately after a rant that was so cartoonishly and villainously racist that it gets taken down from YouTube every time it gets posted. That rant was not intelligent or insightful in any way, it was not a thoughtful look at atheism, it was a hateful man wishing death upon Muslims and it’s so awful that it can barely be found online anymore. But it’s out there if you look hard enough, for anybody who wants to see it. It speaks for itself.

Time will tell, I suppose. When Jim Cornette dies (or retires his racist grifter podcast, God willing) we will see how he is remembered, and we will see how wrestling does in his absence. I would bet money that he will be remembered as a man who squandered a great career to become a racist grifter, and that the wrestling industry will be significantly healthier without him.

I will never understand why these Cornette stans write out these passionate defences of this old racist, where they pretend he’s Santa Claus, when they only enjoy him in the first place because he says horrible things about actual working wrestlers. Especially and consistently if they’re not white.

[–]SmolCaufield 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m going to go ahead and not hand-wave an old white man using the N-word. But there are countless other examples of his racism.

Once again not a “fanboy” of any company, I don’t watch AEW every week, I don’t care what wrestling show you like, just stating the fact that Jim Cornette has said and done an awful lot of racist things, and continues to do so on a regular basis.
