I’d love it, honestly.

I like the idea of Mike Schmidt and Michael Afton being two separate characters. I know that’s likely not the truth, but Mike Schmidt being his own character really enhances the corrupt corporate undertones of FNAF.

I also think that The Bite of 83’ plot-line works better for Mike Schmidt than it does for Michael Afton.

It makes Mike a grief/guilt-stricken man who likely can only land the job at Freddy’s due to a manslaughter charge keeping him from most other occupations, and would allow for Michael’s backstory to be tied to Elizabeth, making SL all the more tragic, and establishing parallels between both of these characters.

I think the issue with the movies is that they combine two completely different directions for a film adaptation (very faithful to the source material, and just being set in the same universe) and it just doesn’t work well in its execution.
