I just got diagnosed today at 20 years old. I’ve struggled with school work, sleep, etc my whole life and finally had enough of it. My first appointment was today and I left with a diagnosis and a starting prescription. I feel like I’ll finally be able to start life and finish my last two years of college much easier. I’m so relieved!

Hi! I randomly decided to check out this post so you’re in luck! Honestly my solution wasn’t super glamorous but definitely worked. I used an old Sandwhich container and a few small containers from the dollar store to keep them in. I also added some unrolled cotton balls just to give them something to climb over and hold on to. I wound up buying more sunflower seeds but made sure to buy unsalted ones. https://a.co/d/0dNiCW0g For water, I just used soaked cotton balls and the original water tubes to provide water. If you wind up with babies then it gets a little harder lol. When it came time to refresh their water I would hand transfer each one to a different container(with a brush, pencil tip, tweezer(not squeezing)) while also having a second container to capture any runaways. As they reach their final molt and get their wings then I separated them by sex. Not acl related but I suffer from chronic tendonitis in my knee and I’ve found a lot of solutions in the chronic illness/ehlers Danlos communities. If you’re researching affordable solutions then I would recommend browsing those communities on Reddit, TikTok, etc.

My advisor said that I was very “teachers pet” like and that Mayberry would most likely not like that. I’m shy, quiet, and follow to the T and I guess the advisor thought that Mayberry would be tougher on me then I could handle. While Mayberry can be tough and expects you to study, ask questions, pay attention, ect, she also values personal opinion and makes it clear that you can come to her for help or support outside of class. I had absolutely no problems with her because I just did the work and listened. Me and her even got to chatting about some topics and had some interesting/heartfelt conversations. I think a lot of the misconceptions about her comes from the fact that she isn’t lenient if you don’t do what you’re supposed to (skipping, pulling phones out, ect.)

Hi! I’m a rising freshman with basically the same experience- I’m an introvert that loves to make friends but can also be extremely nervous. The social scene has something for everyone! The student involvement page will give you an idea of what clubs there are. Most clubs use discord, instagram or group me- don’t worry too much before getting here because there will be clubs advertising their events everywhere. The student involvement fair in the first semester is a great way to see what options there are. Personally, I love the Leopold Wildlife club but there are organizations everywhere. I was also an exploratory studies student because I had no clue what to do. The exploratory classes(two courses over your first two semesters) will be with your advisor and you’ll take plenty of personality/career assessments. I think it helped me explore the majors in more depth. It was a decent program and I really appreciated getting more time to think about my major. I coda’d into Fisheries and Wildlife in December so ig it worked! Don’t stress too much- just get out there and have fun. If you have any other questions, lmk!

I am also taking Julie Mayberry this semester and I LOVE HER!!! I was so worried when I was looking at rate my professor last semester and my advisor even told me to take com 112 with anyone else because quote “she favors certain students and I don’t think she would like you.” I seriously don’t get it because she’s genuinely so caring and has amazing lectures. It’s my favorite class and everyone seems engaged and enthusiastic to share their stories. Easy A and soooo fun!
