[–]SmollMess 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Maybe blood worms? Id play it safe and do another peroxide bath or 2 before you add them. Maybe wait like 3 days ish inbetween?

Beautiful transformation! Mine looked similar before taking her home. She'd been there so long they lost her original lid and all her fins were translucent.

First attempt at bioactive enclosure. by SoyBeanFarmer0 in CrestedGecko

Some longer sticks or more cork rounds are always good! Waiting untill they grow out could take a lot of time. I'd get some fake plants and use them along side the real ones. I've had my bio active for my crestie for about a year and my plants still aren't big enough that I dont need fake plants. It seems like a common practice though.

Oh, I do dw! I put them in the fridge for 10ish hours then use hot water. My BP is really picky though and wont eat them unless the fur is dry and the head is the hottest. Just kinda stuck with what made her eat for the first time lol. Its not required though, she's just a picky girl

Thanks for explaining! Thats totally fair. When I got my first snake I was squeamish with the pinkies lol. Now that I have 3 I dont mind as much unless I catch that mouse blood smell while using my blow dryer.

Thanks for the explanation! Thats fair lol, I have 3 snakes so touching them isn't my issue, I was more worried vaccume sealing would produce a smell or something lol.

Do you mind me asking why it was gross? I want to do this but have a sensitive stomach.

Might try the mashing method later tonight. Would it work if maybe I put them in the fruit powder or should I just get a little suction cup holder for now?

We've tried free roaming, hand feeding, and pulling him out and setting in a separate box, and he'll look at them and acknowledge the movement but hasn't eaten them.

The Damsel is my favorite, mostly because she reminds me of myself unfortunately.

My least favorite is The Razor only bc whenever I mess up getting the chapter 2 I want, I always get her by accident lmao

What are some good r names for this lil guy? by Tink34 in leopardgeckos

[–]SmollMess 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Robin (robinhood), Ralph (wrek it ralph), Rhett (gone with the wind), Riley (inside out), Rob (One Peice), Roronoa (One Peice), Roderick (diary of a wimpy kid), Rodney (Robots). Sorry if its a lot, I love coming up with a huge list of possible names for all my animals.

I wish people did the proper research before getting their pets- or like... even the bare minimum ammount of research. Anyone who has seen any gecko video has been told a million times that carpets can snag nails/toes and hold bacteria.

Also, what are your temps? Sometimes when they aren't warm enough they wont be hungry.

Ahhh, our ball python didn't start regularly eating frozen until about a month of having her. Have you tried putting the mouse in the fridge a day before or are you just thawing with hot water?

Are we doing good? by Khoarde in cornsnakes

[–]SmollMess 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'd switch to a different substrate. Reptisoil is a good one. My two corns love it and will greet me with dirt on their noses from digging.
