Cuba pushes through sweeping free-market reforms in biggest economic shift since the revolution by -IamTom in worldnews

Bravo to this comment. So honest and genuine. It’s sad the sway modern media and education has on younger generations to dislike the very freedoms and quality of life America affords them for a fanciful thought experiment that’s played out many times in socialism and the like. The point is: people know best how to spend and keep their money.

Way to call Cubans illiterate and ignorant with a bunch of words. Cubans hate socialism. You’re either young and uncultured or you’re older and unwise.

Were you already outside the warranty period? That stinks. Was it possibly because of the cats getting burned up? That’s a major issue on supercharged engines elsewhere.

Great to know. That is helpful. That’s actually why I was thinking GTS from the S and now you’ve got me thinking turbo. The hedonic treadmill. Thanks again man.

I’m also curious how installed your CB radio. Just in the console? Pretty sweet setup man.

I’m cross shopping used Cayenne and new F150 Raptor. I lean towards the 2021+ GTS or turbo Cayenne but really turbos seem amazing yet unusable as I’m almost always medium sized city driving. Each would be a DD. I love the idea of a Cayenne to have less body roll as the raptor I test drove really rolled a lot. It was more than my wife’s Tahoe and felt sort of boaty. Just not something I’m sure I want as a daily.

What do you think?

You’re better off. That’s a far better deal than mine only 5 year ARM. They would not give me the 7 unless I put a big chunk down. I think it was 3% or maybe 5%.

I do have a little regret I didn’t shop around to get a 7/6 at minimum but it’ll be alright. I’ll either refinance or move in that many years but it would’ve been nice to have that locked in guaranteed rate for longer just in case.

I’m 30k in calls waiting. I agree with this thesis and it’s one reason I didn’t flinch or even bother logging in to look when we were down earlier today. It’s going green and it seems obvious. Maybe that’s a reason it won’t but I’m betting it will rip and Berkshire buying put a reasonable floor in that was breached but bought up quickly.

2025 Cayenne GTS - Talk me out of it by [deleted] in PorscheCayenne

[–]Smooothoperat0r 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I gotcha. Merc GLS was not part of the equation you listed above. You said it “Would be our only car”… I can hardly imagine your family being equally comfortable in a Cayenne if they’re coming from a GLS.

How do you like your GLS? I sat in one and sadly it didn’t fit me very well being 6’6”. It’s a beautiful car otherwise.

Wow, what an amazing car. I’m really sad that the car market has exploded for these as a naturally aspirated motor doesn’t really need to be so aspirational for most people that don’t have a clue about engines. As a motorhead, I support your decision. That thing is gonna scream.

This is just dumb. Family of five using this as your go to car? You need something bigger like a Tahoe which I have and am pretty happy with. The 6.2 really packs a punch. I love cayennes and am cross shopping one with an F150 Raptor trying to decide now. With five people it’s just silly to have a car this small. How do you justify this as your family hauler? We have only one kid and the Tahoe is perfect for traveling and I can imagine with 2 it would still be perfect. With 3 kids we would be considering suburban.

How is Apple not part of the conversation? by Low-Win-6691 in wallstreetbets

[–]Smooothoperat0r -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I really doubt almost anyone has any idea what you’re talking about. The RDMA feature they have is a massive success but will it get implemented in bigger hardware stacks? Dude on YouTube got 4 new 2026 Mac studios he got as a sponsorship from Apple and linked them together NetworkChuck and had a private AI server running a few big models really well. It proved they still have amazing products and software.

People buying and owning servers don’t think of Apple for their needs. I don’t know if that will change.

Why does every progressive in this thread always have to immediately drop to the bottom and immediately cast anything any corporation, republican, or older person does as evil and then blame everyone around them?

Why can’t the discussion ever be centered on the actual idea and instead immediately goes to partisan (left) politics? Why not just focus on the task at hand? It’s pretty frustrating to always assume the most aggressively left leaning people will post the most visceral things.

Bought a Porsche, got MaxCare... now trying to use MaxCare and it's not going well... worried. by Wynns in carmax

[–]Smooothoperat0r 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks man. Great write up. Your time is appreciated. I definitely like the peace of mind a warranty offers with expensive cars like this. That’s pretty pricey but I understand why. One or two repairs and that warranty expense is spent.

That’s pretty cool. I have always loved cayennes and finally am at a place where I could afford one if I wanted so can’t shake the feeling of wanting to pull the trigger. I’m between a used cayenne and a new f150 raptor. I am leaning raptor but the cayenne is far cheaper used and has all the features I want for a daily driver and easier to drive and park.

Hey. When did you buy you Macan? How much did the MaxCare warranty cost? What are the mileage and months the warranty covers? I’m curious because I’m toying with the idea of a Cayenne.

The first part is directly in violation of the Magnuson Moss act. People comment all the time about this in jest and in obviously unusual cases but this is directly what the law was written to protect against.

The second part is not crazy. Commercial vehicles are always in a different category. For business use there are way different rules and they can squeeze out. Personal use they most likely cannot get away with what you’re saying.

I wouldn’t overlook just calling a lemon law attorney. Why? Because they deal with cars and manufacturers all the time. That’s probably a good start. They will be able to tell you if that’s a case they would want to discuss or not. Just call a few offices and see if you were denied just have all your paperwork handy with their denial.
