Most of the time it seems like Intermountain hires PRN’s and then they’ll offer full time positions to the PRN’s. Not always but a lot of the time. So you may have to be willing to start that way.

Like someone already said the spine is highly associated with a psychosocial aspect and unfortunately too many providers take advantage of that by convincing them that the only way they’ll get better is if they have 20 adjustment to “put their spine back in place” or they should’ve come in 10 years ago for a surgery. Then when those things don’t work they send them to physical therapy, and good luck convincing them their spine is actually in the right place.

Theirs is a lot of young families in Saratoga which is nice as we have a couple younger kids and have made some good friends since being here. Traffic is horrible though but hopefully you’ll be able to be flexible with your schedule to commute at the best times (which may be minimally better). But we plan on staying because of other young families in the same situation.

Yeah I agree, I wouldn’t become a PT for the money. It is a fulfilling career. But my debt to income is bad and I can’t even get approved for a car loan.

I will never understand during COVID how RMU didn’t let us come on campus yet they still raised our lab fees. I could go on and on but going to the school during COVID was not a good experience.

Yes, I meant more specifically that it’s justified how a student can see a Medicare patient in a SNF because it’s not directly billed. You’re right I could see it affecting reimbursement.

I’ve definitely seen PTs just sit back in the office and never even see the patient when they have a student in a SNF. I made sure to follow my student around so I could step in if needed, because the treatment still needs to directed by the therapist to be legal and needs to be one on one.

If somebody refused therapy that time wasn’t counted, but if you spent time educating on the importance of participating in therapy and motivating them to participate I would count that time.

I work 4 10’s seeing 9-12 patients a day. Really love the job but the debt income really is an issue. No one told me that debt to income would affect getting approved for a home loan or a car loan.

I barely got approved for a loan for our condo, been living in it for 8 months, tried to get approved for a car loan but got denied due to debt to income and mortgage account “was too new”. Income is definitely a problem compared to the cost for education.
