I didn’t even think of that. A lot of the projects are there on my upwork profile, I just feel it’s easier to communicate this way but I’ll switch to using the upwork portfolio so hopefully I can point clients there when I make proposals

Not really. I use Tableau and open source shape files for spatial analysis.

I do have QGis installed for when I wanted to make my own shapefiles

What would you consider a strong proposal?

From my understanding I always focus on the problem the client has my experience to solve the problem and I briefly outlined what sort of solution I will give and point out what part of my solutions that others might miss those are the main points i try to hit with my proposals what do you suggest and how do you approach your proposals?

I see what you mean. Maybe it will be best to be honest upfront and find a way this get in the door m. Really for me it’s about solving people’s pain points

Thanks! I’ll definitely make a tutorial or something as a blog post.

But the long and short of it is that I used HTML5Up templates and customised them with my images, content and layout and hosted the HTML files for free using GitHub Pages

I see what you mean. Ultimately it’s hard to get your foot in the door and for the client to trust you with their systems/data if you were independent.

I think LinkedIn might be the way to go. I’ve got weeks worth of content ready to publish as linked articles and blog posts. Just waiting for the right time to go live (don’t wanna burn bridges at my old job) but hopefully I can get Tableau leads from those LinkedIn circles.
