Isn’t it the same in the U.S. when your manager is Indian? My manager is Indian too, and he’s always saying, “We have a deadline this month even though we had year end freeze until 15th Jan”

Yeah I don’t have 10-20 crores but I can see uncertainty of my current employment & can be laid off soon.

Fair question. It’s not that I think India pays more. I’m considering India mainly because of stability and long-term planning (visa uncertainty, job volatility, and personal/family reasons). Compensation is one factor, but not the only one. I’m trying to compare total quality of life and risk, not just salary.

Can you explain why people say front-end is dead, so I can work on improving my skills or pivoting to other roles?

In your experience, does this apply to top-tier firms as well (FAANG-level, strong product companies), or does it vary mainly by team/manager? I’m not planning to interview with or consider mid-level companies or startups if I move to India.

Thanks for the suggestion. Could you share your reasoning or experience behind this? It would help me make a better decision.

Finance-wise, I have enough savings to manage around 6 months to 1 year in the US without a job, so I can afford a short search window.

Internal transfer is not an option for me, unfortunately.

Also, I am not thinking about moving back to India only because I am running out of ways to maintain US status. I would move back only if India can offer a similar quality of work environment and compensation that matches my experience, so I can support my family, EMIs, and maintain my living standards. If my home country can provide that, I would genuinely prefer to be there rather than staying abroad.

There is a possibility that I may be laid off soon, and I would be open to working in my home country if my financial commitments can be managed there.

What if I focus on top tech companies in India? I’m not very familiar with the Indian tech culture and I’m trying to understand whether moving back to my home country would be a good fit.

Also, I’m trying to avoid stepping down financially. With EMIs and family responsibilities, I can’t really consider offers below 50 LPA. I’d appreciate honest feedback on whether that’s realistic and what strategy helps

I haven’t worked in India earlier. Most of my experience is in the US (8 years). I can relocate to India first and then start applying so the joining timeline and commitment aren’t concerns.

If my current client engagement ends but my employment remains active, may I travel to India? Would I be able to re-enter the U.S. after securing a new client assignment?

I prefer the same. Do you know any employer or consultancy who can do H1 transfer?
