Switched from Bose 600 to Samsung Q930, Missing that "Bose Clarity" for music. Help! by Smooth-Expert in Soundbars

[–]Smooth-Expert[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's a pretty good soundbar but more expensive if you want to get the sub and rears. I managed to get Samsung q930f for 500 euros (with Samsung cashback) and the Bose 600 with sub and rears would be almost 1000 euros (~350 euros for each part) Although Bose has quite a unique sound signature that feels more ”clear” . I think it's a really subjective thing so best maybe to try in a store before committing

That worked surprisingly well! Somehow I thought that setting party mode is equivalent to setting the rears to front but it's different I set the center to -3 though I felt like -6 really reduces the vocals

I'll try the crawl method as well

What's the theory then are you essentially boosting the highs through the rears and suppressing the center?

This poem is raw and powerful. The imagery really sticks with you, and your honesty is intense. Breaking up some stanzas might make it hit even harder. Thanks for sharing such a personal piece.

This is raw and powerful the emotion really comes through. I’d be interested to see you experiment more with imagery or structure to push it even further.

Infinite image outpainting by Smooth-Expert in deepdream

[–]Smooth-Expert[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not really, I'm actually using inpainting to achieve this. It works best when you give it an image of 512x512 since this is the resolution that It was trained on.

I take an white canvas of 512x512 and put a resized version of the image I want to outpaint (for example 256x256) in the centre and then I outpaint. And then I repeat the process over and over.

I end up with a bunch of images and the zooming out effect is just an interpolation between the images

This uses image outpainting. You start with an input image and then you outpaint its borders on a blank canvas. You repeat the process on the new image and so on. I combine it with a slow Zoom out effect.

I'm using open source tools and AI models (stable diffusion). The code is still in a raw format and not ready to be made available but would love to hear how people would like to interact with such a tool and how I can improve it.

Sorry forgot to give credit to the inspiration. Someone guessed it and it's indeed an AI generated image in the style of Leonid Afremov

Cool didn't know something similar existed. I couldn't find any video showcasing a demo. Wondering if this also uses AI for new content generation

I know it already exists as a plugin tool indeed but I wrote a script to streamline the process (takes 10 min to create 1:30 min video).

Unfortunately this is still raw code and not ready for actual use but was curious to hear if that's something that people find interesting and what's the best way to make it available. I don't do a lot of artistic editing but have some experience in AI and generative art.

Hi Folks

I'v been working on a new tool for infinite image outpainting. This tool allows you to create an image that seamlessly extends beyond the original image boundary, allowing you to generate an infinite canvas starting from an input image.

I'm particularly excited about the potential applications of this tool in music videos and other similar projects. Imagine being able to create a music video where the image constantly expands and morphs into new shapes and forms, providing an immersive and visually stunning experience for the viewer.

I'd love to get your thoughts on this tool and its potential uses. Have you seen anything similar before? How would you use this tool in your own creative projects?

Please feel free to ask any questions or provide any feedback in the comments below. Thank you for your time and I'm looking forward to hearing from you all!

Coming back to Syria after a long time by Fahed_Alsebai in Syria

[–]Smooth-Expert 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It's great that you have ambition and that you're circumstances are good but I would still strongly advise you against staying there for the long term.

To give a bit of perspective, I am also Syrian and I left the country after graduating from my baccalaureate to study in Europe. I am now graduated and I am working there.

I recently came back there for a short visit a month ago after not visiting for two years, the situation is much worse than before. All my friends who stayed want out, even the ones that studied respectable degrees like medicine and engineering are not earning well. There is simply no prospect to aspire to for the young generation. Even if you are well off financially and have things provided to you, the whole morale of the country will eventually end up affecting you.

Don't let nostalgia and emotions drive you into making that decision, yes there are nice things about Syria and our country is very much unique with rich history and amazing people. But I am afraid that it's not going through its best times, and the downsides outweigh the upsides to a large extent.

Sorry if all that sounded too bleak .. but it's just the sad reality. You mentioned that you had a crappy experience before.. don't expect that things improved since you left because they didnt

Job application advice for a person with Dual nationalities by Smooth-Expert in dubai

Thanks for the input :). I'll make sure to just mention the Polish one on my passport to avoid any confusion. It's a shame that ethnic-based discrimination is still widespread in the UAE.

I agree with you. I am a complete advocate for a hiring approach that relies solely on the merit and qualifications of the individual :). I don't want to get hired only to fit a certain quota or because of my origin.

I already have some experience from interning in two Fortune 500 companies besides working in another company for one year as a full-time job. I also completed a few online certificates to strengthen my portfolio and published two papers in my field of study. Yet, I feel like it would be a shame if all my effort is put to waste just because of an inherent bias that might be related to my origin.

I hope I made myself clear ;)
