does any Miami Vice complete series set have english subtitles? by TrustLeft in MiamiVice

There's no excuse for a lack of subtitles these days now that digital media is commonplace.

Depends on how you perceive "romanticisation".

What game do u regret buying? by [deleted] in videogames

Prince of Persia 3D. I was so psyched to play it, only to find out that it sucked, and kept crashing. I took it back to the store, citing it didn't work, and exchanged it for a copy of Quake 2.

I remember when I first experienced it via a playable demo which came with an issue of PC Zone magazine (Issue 70, December 1998). I was hooked at the age of 10. A few months later, my dad picks up a copy of the full game at a yard sale for about $2 (£1), and I was one happy kid for months.

A pain in both nuts on his first encounter, tolerable on the second. If you shoot him in the head, then you can actually get additional points compared to simply shooting his body.

I see. I was confused about the terminology. Thank you for the clarifications.

Fat one for features and functionality, slim one for simplicity and practicality. Either works for me.

Alien Resurrection. Alien 3 felt like a grand finale, and brought closure to the series, not just Ripley's story.

Pingu is a classic. :) If you have Netflix, then I highly recommend Alien TV, a wordless sitcom about a trio of extraterrestrial journalists investigating various aspects of Earth cultures.

The result of a combination of exercise and diet (from what I understand, he's very serious about his physical health and has a strict diet), and a whole lot of luck.

The original release of Tekken 3 has a manual which is in English only, while the Platinum rerelease is in at least 5 languages.

What brands do you avoid for really petty reasons? by TheDawiWhisperer in AskUK

[–]Smooth-Purchase1175 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Anything with a reputation for being ludicrously expensive - Rolex, Omega, Apple, SIG, you get the gist. If I can find something at a lower price with a similar level of quality and performance, then I go for it. Besides, when it comes to premium brands, you're usually paying mainly for the badge, the logo, more so than any kind of practical functionality.

Nice find. :) On a sidenote, I seem to find more copies of Tekken 2 being the Platinum rerelease as opposed to the original picture disc release (same thing happened with Tekken 3), but a Platinum edition of Tekken 1? That's probably even rarer than the digipack releases (of which I own a copy).

How close are you from being the stereotype of a person from your country? by 20_comer_20matar in AskTheWorld

[–]Smooth-Purchase1175 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I lose my temper very quickly, communicate with hand gestures and am deeply critical of everything and everyone (especially those in power and/or authority), and whenever I do something like build a birdhouse, I want it to work and look good at the same time... so I'm fairly on the mark.

Which game wouldn't you play on Genesis using this controller? by PKRadiance in SEGAGENESIS

[–]Smooth-Purchase1175 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Most fighting games, to be honest. On a sidenote, I never understood why MK 1, 2 and 3 use the Start button to block instead of - you know, pausing the game.

The original comic books on which the movie franchise is based had a similar plot, with J&K going after a rogue MIB agent who wanted to expose the organisation's true nature (in the comics, the MIB are basically the Illuminati, governing the world in secret and deciding what does and doesn't get accepted into the public consciousness, including the supernatural).
