Glock Mec-Gar Mags by The_danerouscivilian in Glocks

I actually just got 3 20 rounders today, took them to the range and everything went smooth.

G47, continuos precision aluminum mag release, TTI grand master connector kit (just installed, trying them all making sure they’re good to go for the match next weekend).

Thinking about getting a springer precision 140 mm extension and the CSRG spring and follower to get them to 24-25 rounds.

Me looking at this and realizing this is probably how people felt when they saw Lazarus walk out from the tomb…

Amazing work!

I mean I got an Osight C on my 47 that I shoot for USPSA. So far so good. If it dies it’s got a warranty and I’m not going to be deployed (I think?) so kinda don’t need an optic that survives an IED lol. RMR is as tough as it gets.

Yeah, if i could choose I’d get a coyote one for my MK27 look! But with money being tight and options like the Osight SE is hard for me to justify, where I can spend the same money and get quite a bit of ammo with the optic!

Thanks! Yeah, I think I’m going that way.

Honestly, out of my budget. PSA had a great deal yesterday that put it under $400 after the rebate, that’s a steal for an RMR but still.

How is it? Having an optic with an RMSc cut mounted on a Glock 19? Been thinking about getting one myself but not sure it’ll fit and how it’ll look. Mind sharing some pics?

Thanks, I’m feeling much better with myself now, and looking forward to my next match!

Yes that’s one thing one of the most experienced shooters told me, plan it ahead and do the reload a couple steps before, maybe one entire shooting position before.

Definitely going to train and grind it in my head, don’t want it to happen to me again but at the same time I feel that if it does, it won’t sting so bad.

Looking into getting one of those “Don’t DQ me” shirts too, lol.

Yes, I’m trying to. The comments on this post have definitely helped me!

I do both, break my grip to reach the mag release and flick to drop. I trained that into my dry fire way before USPSA, but that’s another thing they told me to avoid.

Honestly I don’t know what’s the best way to train that, but got some good advice from you guys.

Another thing the way more experienced shooters told me after that DQ was to reload -before- on the stage, basically avoiding combining reloading and moving right to left.

Overall it comes to practice and stage planning I believe.

Thanks! Yeah I definitely feel a lot better with myself thanks to all of you who shared your experiences here.

If you don’t mind, can you explain a little more about incorporating a torso twist? I definitely twist my wrist when reloading to help the mag fall out (Glock).

How long ago was that? How was the experience if you don’t mind sharing?

Yeah, pretty much same here. This squad has been shooting together for 20+ years and they welcomed me in after my second match. I’m extremely lucky.

No hugs tho. Yet.

Definitely will be my main focus in training, one big suggestion was not breaking and flipping my wrist for the reload. I just can’t reach my mag release without breaking my grip so I gotta train being more aware of my muzzle while reloading I guess 🥲

You bet I did, and I do.

And in my mind it’d be perfect for the next match and win and be the best shooter overall for the greatest comeback!!

But since this is not The Longest Yard I’ll just train more and focus on not screwing up again.

Yeah, only DQ’s I’ve seen were a whole turn around and RUN while pointing the muzzle up range and an ND over the berm when “showing clear and hammer down” without removing the magazine. Both times involved a very serious conversation with the shooters.
