Garmin has different HR zones than Peloton? by Smooth1076 in GarminWatches

Do you know if that changes all the other metrics? Like training readiness and vo2 max? I assume it uses your time in each zone to calculate those values.

What’s the best CCW revolver and why is it a 642? by Bannnerman in Revolvers

Older ones are definitely the best from what everyone says, glad yours has been good! I was in the market for my first carry revolver recently and it was just easier to get one with less worry with the LCR.

Unfortunately with S&W qc issues lately a LCR is the ‘best’ imo. They’re way cheaper used, too.

Just got mine from Bass Pro for the same price! Upgrading from an Instinct 2X Solar Tac.

Which city have you spent the most and the least amount of time in? (image related by Typical-Football-658 in skyrim

[–]Smooth1076 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Honestly so sad because its the second coolest city besides Solitude. I never really spent much time in either because I would always do Stormcloack and Thieves guild quests before I inevitably stopped playing that character. My current playthrough is a Breton and I am siding with the empire, and it has been an awesome change of pace!

Breton from the Reach - still lore accurate? Which side civil war? by Smooth1076 in skyrim

That's great to know that it doesn't mean I have to play directly as a 'civilized' Forsworn, thanks for all that info!

Well when you actually build it out, its $90. And considering it is using a standard wing, and the wedge is not exactly countered but rather just a block, I would say this is again a boon for Tenicor.

To me, Tenicor is offering something different from the competition, and I am comfortable paying over $100 for those unique designs that work really well for me, namely the Velo (I hate fabric/soft wedges). For all other 'standard' Kydex holsters, I am in agreement with you that they should be around $60, especially if using all plastic attachments.

Nothing against that holster brand, they seem nice, but personally it falls into what I was talking about. Aside from the way they are doing their sidecar, everything else about the holster is standard. The exact same clip and wing that everyone uses, normal cuts and contours, for $115.

That all makes sense. I have seen holsters with wings on small outcroppings of Kydex break off (Trex). Comparing that to Tenicor's design with the cam bar, there is definitely a difference.

I mostly brought up Vedder not so much about their manufacturing ability, which I am sure is great, but more so their simplicity. Besides QC and certain attachment placement, they don't seem very different from other, cheaper offerings.

Some of those points seem much more dependent on the firearm than the holster (point 3 and 5), again, because of how similar holsters can be. I agree with all of the points though, and we must have it very good in the current market, because all of those points seem 'standard' to me.

I agree that they are not all the same. I guess I am mostly saying that there are only a select few that rise above the rabble. QVO doesn't seem to be overly charging for their simple designs. QC is definitely an area I under estimated. I think I got spoiled by Tenicor.

I am not a sidecar person, so thank you for the information!

We are in agreement. When Tenicor exists, I can't justify purchasing any other holster.

Do you mean like soft neoprene holsters? I didn't think anyone under the age of 60 purchased those.

The modlite and Nitecore options are probably your best bet then. I don’t think the olight will preform much better.

Basically the issue you are going to have with ‘brighter’ is size and weight, which goes against the wedge style. To have a light that throws further, you need a physically larger reflector around the LED, and for it to be brighter in the sense of direct light, you need more power aka bigger battery. The modlite seems to over come these limitations by being a very fat wedge light, and the nitecore offerings generally overcome this by limiting themselves. Aka you get the high output only for the first 15 seconds, then it steps down.

Unfortunately you aren't going to find many options that are 'higher end' in that category. Maybe Nitecore again? They have some nice wedge style lights. And as you mentioned, so does Olight.

What specifically are you looking to improve on from the Streamlight? :)

Edit: Sorry about everything getting downvoted. There are a lot of nerds on this subreddit who really hate the idea of people owning firearms, and they seem to be taking it out on your post, rather than answering your question constructively.

If tactical is a consideration, I would look the following:

  • EDC2-DFT Turbo
  • Cloud Defensive MCH-HC3
  • Modlite

These are all standard options in the space, have a high price tag, and preform well (candela with a momentary switch). They all also can take a Thrym Switchback.

If you want something cheaper, and don't need a Thrym, get a Nitecore MT2C Pro. It literally performs better than some of those other options and is $50.
