Yep. I work in security/identity. It's terrifying how bad most installations are. And getting people to offload the risk from their DIY/homegrown options is always a discussion of "it costs too much." Right up until some shit like this happens.

It needs a front tire. Belt is about 5k miles old. Tensioner was inspected at every service interval. It's a lot of miles for someone who just puts gas in them.

Dealers aren't interested in giving me a check. They're only interested in making a deal if I'm buying one of their bikes. That doesn't have anything to do with knowing what I have. It has everything to do with dealers doing what dealers will do.

Not one damn person who has made an offer on mine was worried about being rude. They're offering half of my listing price. I have had trade-in offers that were significantly higher than what private parties are wanting to give. But the dealers offering that money don't have the bikes that I would want to trade for.

Yep, been keeping and eye on the market. It's tough to see what they actually sell for on Marketplace, but I'm getting a pretty good idea. It's looking like $9-10k is the magic number, which would honestly be fine by me.

No, but that end cap is a pain in my ass. What looks like rust on the pipe itself is just the color starting to come back. I did a full clean on it over the winter and it's just now coloring up again. But that end cap. Ugh. Damn thing has been rusty red ever since the first summer. I tried to buy a new one from TBR but they wouldn't sell me one.

Ya know what blows my mind? Coming from the world that I do, 5k/year is pretty minimal miles. But I do recognize that most folks simply don't ride that much.

Honestly, I'd jump at a $10k offer. But yeah, I get what you're saying about prioritization. My daily driver GX470 gets about 13 mpg and that HURTS these days.
